—𝙿𝙱—Rowan stood and rushed to John, his nose bleeding and his lip split. His nose looked bruised and a bone had protruded too.
It was obviously broken.
"John, here sit down." She said and helped him toward the chair she sat in. Tommy poured a glass of whiskey and handed it to him, he downed it in a split second and Rowan knelt down beside him.
"What's 'appened John? What do you mean 'e's fucked us over?" Tommy questioned.
"'e's sided with Sabini, the Jews were working with that Italian prick all along, they were fucking usin' us Tom." John raged and Tommy clenched his fist... he knew it was happening. He didn't think it would be so soon.
"What the bloody 'ell 'appened to you anyway?" John laughed.
"Solomons: 'e caught me nicking a bottle o' rum from the distillery. When I was there I saw 'im talking with that Italian twat. Knew what I was seein' but... well I was caught in the act weren't I?" Rowan tried to take a better look at his face, staring at his nose before John pushed her away lightly so they weren't so close."Oi, hands off." Tommy said, plucking the cigarette from his mouth that had appeared once again.
"Sorry Tom but she was the one getting right up in my nose." Rowan looked back at Tommy and sighed before muttering an apology.
"I'm sorry about this John." She said before getting Johns nose between her hands and straightening it out. John yelled and held it in agony, while Rowan continuously apologised. It began to bleed again. She looked at her watch, and recalled what the nurse said on casualty. Hoping that it was true.
"Yeah it's gonna bleed for a couple minutes, here." She leaned over and grabbed Tommy's pocket square and made John hold it to help stop the blood getting everywhere.
"Fuckin' 'ell! You could've fuckin' warned me!" He yelled in her face and Rowan took a step back, muttering apologies while she tried not to react too heavily to the yelling. Tommy rushed around and held her shoulder, sitting her down gently.
"Don't shout at her or your nose'll be broke again? Alright?" John clenched his fist the unclenched, he looked at Rowan and saw her a little shaken."I'm sorry Rowan... but it's been a long fuckin' day, what with being beaten to a pulp by that fuckin' massive Jew dirtbag." Rowan places her cold hands against her hot face, finding some comfort in the contrasting temperatures.
Suddenly the phone rang...
We all looked at each other and Tommy places his finger against his lips at us both, holding his hand out.
"Ah... Alfie. Just the man I wanted to 'ear. How's everything?" The conversation was mainly quiet on Rowan and Johns end but they could hear the threatening tone that this Alfie Solomons had.Rowan walked back over to John and she whispered to him.
"How long were you held for?" She asked and he looked at her.
"Long enough time get an 'eadache from no alcohol. So fuckin' firsty." She chuckled and watched as he poured another drink from Tommy's whiskey selection. He raised his glass at Tommy who snarled at him drinking his favourite whiskey." 'e don't like sharing... anything." Rowan's felt the undertone of the double entendre he had stated. She wasn't property and she wouldn't be shared nor owned. Though she understood that John was married, and even if it was an arranged married she would think it to be unlikely that John had felt nothing for her at all. He seemed to feel a lot more then his two older brothers.
As for Finn... well he was a mystery to Rowan, there was never much to be read about him. He seemed to almost disappear after the demotion of the Peaky Blinders in society. Tommy placed the phone to his chest and told Rowan to get out and that this was something he didn't want her to hear. She did as she was told, and soon John was removed too.
"Wait. How did you get back to Birmingham so quick from London? If you were at this guys distillery?"
"We've been renting out a ware'ouse to 'im on the outskirts of our Birmingham. What a bunch of fuckin' idiots we are ey?!" She shook her head and touched his hand, which he was a little surprised by her sudden action."Lets go wipe your face shall we?" He nodded and they walked to kitchen together, their hands still connected. She sat him down and grabbed the cloth and dripped cold water on it. She approached him and noticed his nose had stopped bleeding like a fountain of red. She wiped his lip and a few cuts on his face, none were deep and would scab over and wouldn't be noticed in a couple weeks but she felt awfully sorry for him.
"Do you hurt anywhere else?" She asked and he shook his head, looking at her in a complete trance at the delicacy of her actions. He himself were surprised by this girl, she carried herself like no one he had ever met. If he said he hadn't fancied her because of her separation to the 'fashionable' personality, he'd be lying. She was pure-hearted and took no pleasure in the dark side of life. She was bright, and had such a life giving nature.Tommy and her were like chalk and cheese, day and night, black and white etc. It was hard to believe that Tommy had taken a liking to her, he seemed more drawn to women who had a ferocity and damage to them. Apart from Grace. She was just a liar.
But then again, John saw that Rowan could be a help to Tommy's heartbreak thus meaning he could feel better again. But he believed she wouldn't try and change him, he believed she liked him just as much as he did. The chemistry when Rowan and Tommy were in a room together was rather phenomenal."Well?" John asked, seeing Tommy standing in the doorframe.
He looked rather happy."Mr Solomons has realised his mistake and... well he's understood his mistakes. It won't happen again."
