After visiting seemingly every dress shop in Small Heath there was much success for Ada, but not much for Rowan. Everything she had tried on she felt uncomfortable in... mainly because they were all so expensive that she felt unworthy of them. Ada had almost given up before we reached the very last shop that Ada would allow her to buy a dress from.

"Welcome to Chanel, 'ow can I help-... Ada? Look at who we 'ave 'ere!" The young women rushed over, her blonde hair flicking about while she grasped Ada's hand.
"What on earth are you doin' 'ere?"
"I need a dress for my friend Rowan here. Got anythin'?" Rowan stood awkwardly behind them and investigated the fine evening dresses scattered around the shop. A multitude of colours but all having their own charm.
"She's pretty ain't she? What kinda colour do you like Rowan love?" The women asked and Rowan jumped at her obnoxiously loud voice calling out her name.
"Erm... green or blue would be nice but I'll try on anything."

She looked at Ada with a smirk.
"I know exactly what to pull for ya." She disappeared from few moments while Ada and Rowan made small talk. Throughout their shopping session Rowan grew to like Ada even more, and Ada had done the same.
"I've never been shopping with a girl before... ever. Apart from my mum was I was maybe 8." Ada laughed and smiled before pushing a strand of Rowan's hair behind her ear. She had so much charm about her, Ada understood why Tommy had taken such a liking to her in such a small space of time.

The blonde woman returned to Rowan and Ada with a beautiful green bejewelled dress, it reached the floor and was covered entirely in diamond beading.

The top was rather risqué but held a modesty that didn't surpass Rowan's comfort zone. It was sheer but not enough to see every outline of her body and she was extremely impressed with the detail of the gown. Rowan walked forward in a gasp of materialistic shock, within the confines of her modest heart she felt this was the dress for her. She didn't even need to try it on to know it was right.

"Put. It. On. Me." Ada bursted out in laughter at Rowan's sudden entranced request. It was hilarious.
"You 'eard the lady Maria. Get it on 'er!" Rowan rushed when putting the dress on, wanting to feel the dress against her skin.
"I have never... ever worn anything like this before in my life."

Ada's smile widened when Rowan walked out of the changing rooms, her face a red shade of excitement. She felt like a princess in the bejewelled dress and decided that if she was to wear anything while going out with, Tommy it would be this.
"Ada, I think this is the one." Ada nodded and handed the rest of the money over to the seller woman.

When Rowan and Ada got back to the house they sat down for a tea and a chat, Ada beginning the conversation with a smile plastered on her face.
"I can't believe we're goin' to fucking London tonight, and to a club.
A Sabini club too."
"Well what's the difference between that and a normal club?" She asked innocently and Ada chuckled.
"In a Sabini club, no one cares if your on the floor givin' a blowjob, they just carry on with their dancing." Rowan nervously laughed and Ada couldn't help but throw her head back, laughing boisterously at her response.

"Do you dance Rowan?"
"I can... but not the way you dance nowadays." Ada stood up and held her hand out.
"What?"
"We wouldn't want Tommy of all people to show you up at dancin'."

Rowan grabbed her hand and Ada talked through the steps of three different dances, and it was almost a natural skill right away. It seemed to Ada that Rowan excelled in the arts and anything creative.
"Do ya paint by any chance?" Rowan almost spat out her tea at the thought of it.
"God no, I'm the worst at it." Ada placed her tea cup down and decided to dispute.
"I feel like you're good at anything you put your hand to: why not art?"
"I'm just not, that's Malachi. He's..." Rowan gripped her necklace as she remembered making a small gallery room in her house, full of all of his work. He had a a passion for art but knew in such a difficult industry to be treasured and earn good money, he could never take it up as a profession.
"He's extremely good at it... too good. I admire the artistry he has but I could never do something like him."
"Well why not?" Ada asked before hearing the door open and Rowan obviously not.

"I lost my passion for art when I lost the people who taught me to love it. My parents - as nightmarish as they may have been - they taught me the passion I had for all types of arts. I maintained my love for books and poetry because it was all that kept me sane while in my hermitage. Malachi never lost the passion, but just turned it to something else. He's one of the most successful lawyers in country." She smiled proudly, turning to the door to see Tommy.

"You lost your parents? I didn't know." Rowan looked down and smiled sadly in memoriam.
"I was 18... locked myself away for 4 years. I only ever saw about 5 people in between those times. I couldn't even go to the funeral because I couldn't face everyone. How cowardice? I didn't even go to my own parents funeral because 'I was scared'... pathetic." She muttered the last word to herself about herself but Tommy has heard. Ada removed herself from the room and said goodbye with a soft smile.

"I got a dress, it's beautiful. I didn't think I'd find one that I liked. I haven't worn a dress in years."
"I'm sure it looks beautiful." He said, nonchalantly and just looking at the girl like she was the most priceless artifact in the world.
"Thank you, for paying for it."
"It's just money. You need to enjoy yourself... in the time you have here."
"Speaking of which... we need to discuss that." Tommy sat down opposite her, and listened intently,

"I-... you-... what do we do? I-... I need to go home, to see my best friend. To live my life in my time but... this thing between us. It's undeniable and well... it's typical for me to make complicated things tenfold more complicated. I'm falling in love with you Tommy Shelby. And in such a short time I-..."
"Just shut up."

Tommy said before leaning over and kissing Rowan on the lips, leading to the room growing warm and dragging each other back to the bedroom.
