"Congrats to you two...!" Said another customer as he leaves the shop in a hurry. That was the twelfth person to congratulate you and Harper for being together.
"See? Everything's fine. No one thinks we're weird together!" Harper kissed you on the cheek.
"Maybe it's 'cause you're always holding a gun?" Harper turned her focus on her hand that's clearly welding a dangerous weapon. She giggled nervously.
"Aw, my customers know that it's empty." She secretly unloads it behind her back.
"See?" She pulled the trigger while it's pointing to the ground, nothing shot out of it. You pursed your lips. "There is absolutely nothing wrong being the love of my life." She gently pinched your cheek.
You were surprised that she has a large customer base. Most of them visit her shop to buy alcohol instead of guns. It seems like she also knew most of them personally.
"Wish I had that much friends..." you cast your eyes to the side. "I wonder what she sees... hey, I should ask her." You looked around her shop, no one is around. Perfect opportunity to dig out some information.
"Uh, Harper." Her face lit up and her hand shot out to gently stroke your head.
"Yes, my wifey?" You visibly cringed at the pet name she gave you. Harper smile falters a bit at your reaction.
"Uh, why did you choose me?" You asked, scratching your neck. Harper blinked, she was not ready for this question. Well, she actually is, but her full answer will probably scare you away. Or bore you, as it is incredibly long.
She handwritten a two feet thick book about why she loves you, it's still ongoing. She smiled at you and then proceeds to walk towards the main entrance.
You raised an eyebrow when she flipped the sign from 'open' to 'closed' and drew the blinds down. Once she's done, she returned to your side.
"Oh, (y/n). My one and only. Come here." She opened her arms wide before engulfing you in a loving hug. Your head was pressed against her soft chest. "Why wouldn't I choose you? You're perfect for me..." she cooed as her fingers ran through your hair. You kept quiet, hoping that she would continue.
"I love you so much that I worship the land you walk on, the things you touch and most importantly, I worship you. You are my religion and you are my goddess, I'll gladly do anything if it means being with you forever." She pecked you on the head.
"But why?" You are somewhat disturbed by her statement earlier.
"Why wouldn't I?" She held on to you tighter and rubbed your back up and down. You're getting tired of her answers.
"We're strangers." You told her coldly. Harper was taken aback by your harshness. You pulled yourself away from her and stepped back.
You crossed your arms across your chest. "I know nothing about you." Your body language screamed 'defensive'. Harper knitted her eyebrows and tried to pull you back into the hug, you slapped her hands away.
"Damn it, you can't just shrug everything off by hugs and kisses! You've been avoiding this topic, you're hiding something, Harper." Your words sent a chill down the blonde's spine.
"(Y/n), we're not strangers... I—" She bit on her bottom lip, she couldn't reveal too much or it would brand her as a creepy stalker. Harper wouldn't want you to think of her that way.
You stared at her, not lowering down your guard. Harper had an idea.
"...I loved you ever since you accepted me for who I am." You raised an eyebrow at her reply. Her hands reach out to cup your cheeks.
"Huh?" You grabbed onto her wrist. She chuckled and planted a soft kiss on your forehead.
"(Y/n), if you wanted me to list down everything I loved and still love about you, it would be endless. I'm not even kidding." Her thumbs slowly caressed your cheeks.
"So, I'll just tell you when it all started. You accepted me for who I am, you made me feel welcomed to your heart. It's only fair to return the favour and welcome you to mine." She giggled and playfully nuzzled her nose against yours. "I didn't mind giving you so much more than that." The blonde added.
What she said was completely true, you gave her the validation and acceptance she badly needed at the time. When she admitted that she is a homosexual, she was prepared for a violent and negative reaction from you, just like all the other people she met.
Most of the times, when she reveals her sexuality to the women she knows, they would actively avoid her after that. Or say something that ticks her off such as, "You just haven't found the right man yet."
or "Let me introduce to my male relative/friend."
or "But you don't look like one!"
Or "Did something happen to you to make you afraid of men?"
As for men? Their reactions were much more horrible. Harper needed to teach some them a lesson using a few bullets. Don't ask her about them, Harper would throw a furious fit talking about it.
However, you didn't push her away or see her in a terrible light. You continued listening and talking to her normally. You never said anything stupid to her about her sexuality, you respected and understood it.
That's where all her burning feelings towards you were ignited. Time only served as fuel to that passionate fire, making it burn hotter and hotter.
"Did that answer your question, my love?" She cooed. You nodded your head, it did. But only for now. Harper giggled and grinned happily before planting a quick, loving kiss on your lips.
"Would you like to cuddle for a bit before lettin' my customers back in?" She asked, gently pinching your cheeks.
"No." She frowned and hesitantly lets go of you.
The blinds on her front door drew up and the sign flips back to 'open'.
