A/n: EXTREMELY short chapter

You and Harper switched seats, she's the one who suggested it again because she noticed that you're always staring out of the window. Your focus is on the clouds outside the plane while Harper's focus is on you.

Harper was frowning, she wanted to hold you in her arms and never let go. She can't.

She can only hold your hand and caress it with her thumb, nothing more. Her lips were longing to meet yours and other parts of you. But she can't satisfy her craving. You were so close yet so far.

To maximize the area that she can touch, she slowly wrapped her left arm around your shoulders and held your hand with her right one. You liked the feeling, it was warm and it gives you a sense of security.

However, you felt that it was wrong. It's not that you're against same-sex relationships, It's because you felt like you were leading her on.

This time, it was her turn to rest her head on your shoulder. She was happy that you would at least give her this much, however, it couldn't be said the same for you. Harper wished that she could raise the middle armrest so that she can get closer to you. However, only the aisle and window seat's armrest can do that.

Quietly and discreetly, she planted a tender kiss on your shoulder. You did not notice it.

She smiled and nuzzled it.

Finally, both of you landed back in America. Both of you successfully went through all the necessary checks and documentation. She wouldn't stop holding your hand, the grip was quite strong too as her fingers were intertwined with yours.

"(Y/n), do you have anyone to send you home?" Harper asked you at the exit of the airport. You lied and nodded.

"Who?" Her eyes were wide with distress.

"Do you need to know?" You retorted, pulling your hand away from hers. Heartbroken and upset, she hid her hands in her pockets.

You felt bad for acting rudely, but you knew that if you wish to give her the correct message, you had to do it.

"I c-can give you a ride home." She showed you a bunch of keys. You assumed that she parked her car in the airport's parking lot. You bite back the urge to say yes as it may give her the wrong idea.

"I know you mean well, but no thanks, Harper. I'll be fine on my own." You gave a dismissive wave and walked away, dragging your luggage with you. You grumble when you hear Harper's hurried footsteps follow after you.

"I'm fine on my—" she encased you in a protective hug. You felt a bit embarrassed that she's embracing you in front of so many people. What's worse is, you felt water dripping on your shoulder, that means she's crying again.

"Please don't push me away, I promise I'll be a good girlfriend. I won't force you to do anything you wouldn't want." Her slender fingers stroke your hair.

"Please? One more chance?" Harper pulled away from you and cupped your cheeks. You grimace at her watery, red eyes and wrinkled chin. "You're the most important person to me, I can't stand to lose you."

You held on to her wrist, about to shove it away. "You won't lose me, I won't uh, ignore you for the rest of my life. I'll still talk to you. But uh... I don't know how to feel about you as my romantic partner." Her thumbs caress the skin under your eyes.

"We can take things slow, (y/n). I'm willing to wait until you finally realize that—" Harper choked back a sob.

"—It's okay... It's okay for us to be together, everything is going to be fine." Her hands travel up your hair and started stroking them. You felt like you were swimming in a pool of doubts and uncertainty, what are you going to do now?

"Please..." she whispered between whimpers.

You pulled both of her hands away and sighed.

"Okay, I'll... I'll—" you gulped. You felt uneasy under the supervision of Harper's brown eyes filled with anticipation.

"I'll let you drive me home."
