Chapter 41

-Katniss's POV-

"Both of you?!" He yells of fear. We nod. "We got to get to the hospital now!"he yells. I stagger out with Delly. Woah, I'm really dizzy and I think I'm gonna- suddenly I barf. I groan and hold my head. Peeta puts the kids in the car then helps us in.

Delly and I scream vicious things at Peeta the whole way to the hospital. Peeta puts Willow and Hunter in the stroller then picks me up with one arm and wrap his arm around Delly's waist. We rush in. "HELP! MY WIFE AND HER BEST FRIEND IS GOING INTO LABOR!" Peeta screams. Two doctors come out with 2 wheelchairs. Delly and I sigh In Relief and sit in them. they stroll us and Prim suddenly rushes in to take the twins. Peeta thanks her and heads to our side. They take us in our room and our midwife Miss Scarlett comes in. "Hello ladies. We are aware that your going into early labor." She says and we nod.

It's May 4th and now 5 A.M.

"How long will the labor take?" Delly asks.

"Well since you ladies are only 7 months, if you want your babies to survive we have to give them this special vaccine that makes them grow their features and body faster." She says.

"Are you a hundred percent sure it will help?" I ask worried. She nods. I sigh and look at Delly. I hate to drug my baby but that will be the only way to save her. I nod, "We will do it."

Scarlett smiles and gives us both a green syrup. I take it and it makes my throat burn. I wheeze at first but then it makes me feel relieved. "It takes an hour to fully kick in and then 2 hours till the baby is fully developed. In that time eat a lot but don't drink. It might wash the drug away." She warns and we nod.

"Then you both have a short time of labor luckily! Only 3 hours so, get ready to start pushing in 6 hours! I'll be back in an hour to check up." She says and leaves.

Peeta sits Willow on my bed. Hunter is sleeping. "Will I get see Lil?" She asks. I smile and nod, then open my arms. She crawls in and snuggles up to me. She smiles and shows her tiny baby teeth with her dimples. "Night, Night momma." She yawns. "Good night." I whisper and fall asleep.

-1 hour later-

I wake up to pain shooting up me and the door opening. Scarlett comes in. "The vaccine should be kicking in now. You will feel kind of sore at first but it will ware off. I brought food so eat, eat, eat!" She exclaims setting a salad in my way. I gently sit up and eat while Delly does the same. Peeta takes Willow for me.

Scarlett looks at our monitors and smiles, "everything is going well so far. I'll be back in 2 more hours and the babies should be fully developed." Then leaves again.

Delly decides to go back to sleep. I look up at Peeta and pat the bed. He comes over and lays down with me. "I'm not hurting you am I?" He asks and I shake my head, "No Peet your fine."

"I just hope our baby girl is okay." He sighs. "Scarlett said everything is going as plan and the vaccine is kicking in so we just have to wait 2 hours and she's fully developed then 3 hours we will see her." I say. "I know. I'm excited to know what she looks like." He smiles. I nod, "Same. I'm ninety nine percent sure she has tan skin, blonde curls, and ocean blue eyes." I say matter of fact.

"Why so sure?" He asks.

"I've seen her enough in my dreams to know." I say biting my lip.

He raises an eyebrow. "Really?" He asks and I nod. "Yep and trust me, she's adorable."

"Well any child of ours is adorable." He smirks and nudges me. I laugh.

"True, True."

I take a look at my stomach, wow. It already looks like I'm 9 months pregnant. Defiantly kicking in. Peeta rubs my stomach, "our beautiful mutant baby." I slap his hand off. "Shut up. I didn't want to drug her." I scold and glare. "I know I know. I didn't either." He sighs and hugs me. Suddenly Scarlett comes in and smiles. "The baby is now fully developed now just wait around 2 to 3 hours and just rest then it will soon be time to see Your babies." She says and checks the computers.

I wait with anxiety for the news of the baby. She smiles, "everything is going right along!" I sigh in relief then pain shoots up me. I bite my lip to hold a cry of pain. "I hate contractions." I whimper. "Me too." Says a now awake Delly. "I just want the dang baby out!" I cry and slam my face into a pillow. I start crying. Peeta gets up after a while and leaves. I chuck the pillow then cover my eyes with my hands and sob into my knees, curled up in a ball.

"Katniss?" Delly asks. I lift my head and sniffle then look at her. "Yes?" I ask. "It's okay. I know it hurts but the good part is we will have our daughters." She rues calming me down and it works. Ugh! I was only crying for myself when Delly is in the same position. Plus this is her first baby. "Are you scared?" I ask and she nods. "Very much so."

"It's not as bad as it-" I say then let out a strangled cry as a contraction comes. Delly winces in pain. "Well you know we will be giving birth soon since the contractions are coming closer together." I sigh and she nods.

She stares at the ceiling and takes deep breathes. "Hey, you never told me what you were naming her." I say. She smiles, still starring at the ceiling, and says, "you'll find out after the birth."

"No!!" I gasp. She then smirks, "okay I'll tell you once but you only get one chance to hear." She says and I nod. She says the name barely under a whisper. "You did that on purpose!" I whine. She then turns towards me and laughs, "that's too bad isn't it?"

"Delly!" I say, pouting. Then scream of pain. Delly does too. I take deep breathes and another comes. I clutch the blankets and Peeta plus Miss Scarlett comes in.

"It's time." She informs us. We throw the blankets off and Scarlett calls a doctor with long blonde hair and green eyes. I stick out my hand and Delly connects ours. I stare into her fearful eyes and nod. "It's gonna be okay." I whisper and she sighs.

"Ready?" They ask. "Yes." We agree. "Okay. 1." Scarlett starts. "2." Delly's doctor continues. "3!" Delly and I scream. I hunch my back and push as hard as I can. They count to three and we push even harder this time.

Delly screams. I bite back mine and push. Suddenly I hear a baby cry and Delly sighs of relief. "Katniss your baby is almost there!" Scarlett encourages. I push the hardest I ever did. Then I see my baby girl. I cry and look over to Delly.

"We did it." I sigh.

"I am a parent now." Delly cries.

They clean off our babies then hand me Lily while Delly gets handed her baby. I look at Lily and gasp. "You were right." Peeta says amazed. I cry tears of joy as her little baby hand clutches my finger.

Willow, Hunter, Mom, Prim, Tris, Nevaeh, Tobias, and Toby come in. "Hey guys." I whisper. Willow rushes to my side and sits on the hospital bed. She gasps in awe as she looks at baby Lily. "She's my wittle wister?" Willow asks and her adorable baby voice. I nod and smile, "This is her, Daisy Lillian Rose Mellark."

I raise an eyebrow at Delly, "and mine. Nicole Brooke Cartwright."

Tris awes at Nicole. Baby Nicole has midnight black hair, pale skin, and diamond blue eyes.

We pass the babies around and the rest of the group show up.

To see our baby girls.
