Knight ordered Josh to stay in the car while we met with King.  We stood outside the door to his hotel room and I had a horrible feeling about what might have been waiting on the other side of that door, especially since he and Knight didn't seem too fond of one another.  The bad feeling in the pit of my stomach urged me to grab Knight's arm before he reached for the handle.

"What?"  He growled.

"Something's not right," I responded, "Are you sure it was a good idea to have Josh stay in the car?"  I looked up into his green eyes and saw him searching mine.  "Sorry," I looked away from his prying eyes, "I know you can handle yourself, but the last time you got shot . . . i-it was my-"

"Shut-up."  He covered my mouth before continuing to speak.  "Kitten, I live for thrill and I've been through a hell of a lot worse than that fucking gunshot.  Whatever is on the other side of this door, I can take it."  He smirked.  I nodded my head as he took his hand away and leaned down to me.  He gently pressed his lips against mine.  In fact, it was the most gentle kiss he'd given me and it was when he did things like that that confused my whole being.

He pulled away and wrapped his arm around me before we entered the room.

"Let me get this straight," Knight said with a smirk as he wrapped his arm around me.  "You want me to hand my Princess over to you and you're gonna hand me more power?"  He questioned.

"That's the deal.  I need her to ensure my position as King." King replied

"W-Why would I be able to ensure your position?" I spoke up.

"You mean he hasn't told you. How typical of Knight." King smirked and stood up. I looked at Knight in confusion, but he just looked pissed as hell. He stood up from the sofa and gripped my wrist, forcing me to stand up with him.

"It's not important, Kitten." He snapped. "I'm refusing your meaningless deal."

"My dear, according to our code the only way for a man to guarantee his position as King is to marry the Princess." King continued.

"What?!" I snapped, snatching my hand away from Knight and backed away from the two men. I was beginning to lose my damn temper with this stupid society. All of the secrets, the fucking lies, the murder. Everything I put up with for the past few months was all going to end up with me being married off to whoever hired Knight as if I were a damn item. "You didn't think this was important information, Knight?! Or did you just choose not to tell me?!" I growled at him.

"I didn't tell you because it wasn't necessary at the moment!" He retorted.

"Wasn't necessary?! I can't believe I was stupid enough to fall for all of your behavior! I can't believe I actually thought I might be able to trust you, you damn sociopathic-"

"Welcome to the real world, Sweetheart!"

"You don't fucking own me, Knight!!!"

King snapped his fingers and two large men came in. They immediately gripped Knight by his blazer, handcuffed his hands behind him, and forced him to sit back on the couch. I gasped and King snapped his fingers once again so that they would punch him, beating him until he started to bleed.

"Stop!" I yelped, reaching out for him. He may have been an asshole, but I didn't want anything to happen to him. I couldn't believe it, but I admitted to myself that I actually cared for the stupid man, and even somewhat liked him, no matter how much of a bastard he was. King grabbed both of my arms in his large calloused hands and held me back, pulling me back against him. "Let go of me!" I growled, struggling to get away from him. He leaned over my shoulder and started to speak next to my ear.

"Come now, Princess. You don't even really know this man. I mean, he's kept so many secrets from you. My twin has always been a little . . . impulsive." He said, seductively wrapping an arm around the front of my waist.

"Shut the fuck up, Michael!" Knight growled at him. All the while, I was trying to process that these two men were brothers. Twin brothers!

"Please . . ." King rolled his eyes. I was beyond angry now, especially at the fact that this man was still fucking touching me. "Come with me and I'll let him go, Princess. You'll be rid of my brother forever." He signaled his men to hit him once more. I'd had it. I slammed my head back into his face and elbowed him in the ribs before running towards Knight.

"Ugh!" King groaned in pain. "You fucking bitch."

Before anyone could even move, I grabbed Knight's silver pistol from the holster inside his blazer and shot the two men holding him, right in the head, out of pure anger. Then, I gripped his bicep and ushered him off of the couch, turning around at what felt like lightning speed to point the gun at King.

"Holy shit, Kitten . . ." Knight said in surprise. I ushered him backwards, all the while, working on getting him free of his cuffs as I continued to point the gun at King. Once he was free, Knight took back his gun and we booked it back to the car, speeding off in the pouring rain.
