Lizzie Saltzman decided to stay behind at the school this summer, she didn't want her sister to especially after what happened with Penelope Park, or 'she who shall not be named' as Lizzie would label her. She wanted Josie to be happy, something she would be if she went to Paris alone.

Alone

Being alone was something Lizzie wasn't used to. In her 17 years of life she's never been alone. And let's just say, she wasn't handling it well. She was tossing and turning in her sleep, insomnia was not her friend. She couldn't fall asleep to save her life.

3:38 am

Seriously? It was three in the morning and Lizzie was sitting on the edge of her bed, crying from the exhaustion. She didn't want to be awake.. Her dad wasn't the headmaster any more and all the kids that have families or friends with families were gone. She quickly stands up from her bed, looking in her mirror she tugged on the end of her sleep shorts. She was trying to distract herself from the crazy.

Hey, Liz, you're probably sleeping right now.. Paris is fun, cute guys and girls everywhere! I hope you're having a great time with dad. Love you!

Lizzie should feel happy for her sister. She's having fun, without her. Lizzie tried to shake the thoughts that were in her head, but it wasn't working. She let out a frustrated groan before hitting the mirror.

"Shit." She cried, wincing as she watched the blood drip down her arm. She jumped as her door swung open, a tired looking Landon Kirby standing in her door way. He looked at the glass shards that scattered around her feet. "Landon, I'm fine. Go back to bed."

"I'm up now, might as well help. I'll be back." Landon Kirby, being the usual sweetheart he is, runs off to the kitchen, grabbing a broom and dustpan and the emergency first aid kit that they keep in the pantry. He makes his way back to Lizzie's room, any form of sleep he once had was gone. "I guess asking how you're doing is a bad idea."

"Very funny, frodo." She says, giving him a side eye, she moved from where the glass was to her bed, her legs were crossed and she cradled her wrist with a rag wrapped around it. Landon ignored her little nickname, he was more worried about getting her patched up. "Seriously, I'm fine."

"Yeah, the cut on your wrist, blood on the floor and broken mirror tells me different. What happened?" Landon asks, crouching down in front of her, softly grabbing her hand, and looking at the damage.

"I can't sleep at night sometimes, and usually I have Josie, or my dad is down the hall." Lizzie says, she watched as Landon tended to her injury, a small smile on her face. 'He didn't have to stop, but he did.' "She texted me, and i got so, jealous."

"It's okay to be jealous. It's human to feel, Lizzie." He tells her, he took the rag that was on her wrist and pours a small amount of hydrogen peroxide on the cloth, dabbing her cut he mumbled 'sorry' as he watched Lizzie take her bottom lip in between her teeth.

"It's kinda shitty, huh?" Landon places gauze over her cut, and grabbed a wrap, looking up at her and raising an eyebrow, expecting her to explain herself. "I mean, my sister is happy, she's having fun, and i'm throwing a fit because i'm not there."

"It's not shitty, i don't think so." He started to wrap her wrist, not too tightly, but good enough. He stood up and walked over to the shards that were scattered on the floor. He went to pick up a big piece and dropped it, nicking his pointer finger. "fuck."

"Are you okay?" Lizzie asks, Landon only nodded and grabbed the broom, sweeping the pieces into a pile, the girl noticed as a drop of blood fell onto one of the broken shards. "You cut yourself."

"It's nothing, just a scrape." Landon says, bending over to sweep the broken pieces into the dustpan, Lizzie didn't listen to him as she stood up, grabbing a bandage from the first aid kit, she grabbed Landon's wrist. As she put the band aid on, she looked at him, his grey green eyes sparking in the moon light, she shook her head and turned on her heels.

"Uh, thanks. For this." The blonde smiles, grateful for the kind action that Landon didn't have to do, especially for her. He chuckles and nods, he grabs the dust pan and goes to walk out of her room. "Hey, uh, you can stay in Josie's bed. I know you're alone in your room, since Raf..."

"Oh, it's okay,-" Lizzie didn't even let Landon finish his sentence.

"Please, I guess I sleep better with someone in the room." Landon looked around the room, finding a trash can to dump the glass in, he nods at the blonde girl.

"Hey, I don't want you to think we can't be friends." He started, walking over to Josie's bed, he pulled the sheets back. "I'm a good listener."

"Good night, frodo."

Landon chuckles, shaking his head as he sinks into the bed, pulling the blanket over him, he turned on his side, facing away from Lizzie.

"Good night, Saltzman."
