Chapter 7~ Come with me?

Max's POV~

"New scarf?" Chilled's question catches me off guard. I look back at the Italian who stands behind me.

"What are you doing out so late?" I ask him. Avoiding the original question.

"I would ask the same to you Mr. Sneaks out at nearly midnight and stands by himself" chilled says, chuckling to himself. He did have a point there. I did sneak out. At my silence chilled seems to become concerned and comes to stand beside me.

"What's on your mind dude?" He asks, his tone a lot more serious than before.

"Nothing." I try. The look on his face says he doesn't buy it.

"It's...something that could probably get me in a lot of trouble." He looks at me, now very concerned.

"We're best buds, you can trust me! Please tell me Max." He pleads. I take a deep breath, contemplating what to do. He's never told on me about anything before. I've also never told him anything this big before. I take another deep breath.

"IthinkIlovethehidden." I say quickly and don't dare look him in the eye.

"Wait. What? Slow down bud" I take another breath.

"I think I love the hidden." I say quietly. For a moment I think he's about to ask me to repeat myself again.

"Do you trust him?" Chiller's question once again catches me off guard. I have to think about my reply.

"Yes and no" chilled cocks his head to the side,gesturing for me to elaborate. "I trust him with me, not with others" I finish.

"That's his scarf isn't it? That's why you cuddled it in the van" he asks. This makes me blush. I cuddled it?

"Can i ...kiss you love?". Once again Adams words run through my head and my heart rate speeds up.

"I'll take that as a yes" chilled says, smiling. "If he breaks your heart, I'll have to break his neck. I hope you know that"(leah- I started laughing right there 'cause I thought about the neck twisters lol) his comment me laugh. Of course that's the only thing he worry's about. I turn and pull him into a hug. He's surprised at first and slowly wraps his arms around me too. "You're a great friend. I appreciate it." I say to him. I feel him smile into my shoulder.

"SNOW ATTACK!" suddenly there's snow all around us. I look up to see Sark, Ze, Hutch and Slam standing with snow in their arms. Looks like it's snow ball fight, round 2.

~Le Magical Time Skip~

"What do you mean I can't go!!?" Ze's yelling alert me as I walk down the halls. I hear a hushed voice and then Ze again. "Im a great member of my squad and reach all the standards!" What's going on? I knock and then open the door to Sark's office to find and extremely angry Ze Storm past me and down the hall. Weird.

"What's going on?" I ask Sark. He just shakes his head before cracking his knuckles.

"Ze is needed here in base and is unable to go on our mission to find The Hidden tomorrow. He's angry because Chilled was put on the mission." I get it now. Ze is worried Chilled will get hurt without him around. I nod to Sark before jogging down the hall after Ze. I find him sitting in the hall with his head in his hands. He looks up when I approach.

"Stay with Chilled at all times. Please promises me, Gassy. Please." Ze looks so helpless. I kneel down.

"Of course." I place a reassuring hand on his knee. He relaxes slightly.

"He's been on missions alone before and all but this one... Its just so dangerous."

"I know. I get it buddy. Don't worry. I won't let him get hurt." I smile at him, try to calm him down. "Go find Chilled." I tell him. He nods and gets up, heading towards the field. Of course he'd be playing in the snow. That kid is so childish.  

~Le Magical Time Skip~

Me and chilled wander the abandoned building, not bothering to lift out weapons as Adam won't hurt us with me around. I feel arms twisting around my torso before I hear Adams whispered voice

"Hello love. How come your friend doesn't have his weapon out?" He asks curiously. I hear Chilled gasp, now realizing Adam was here.

"He trusts you. He won't hurt you." I say, leaning back into Adams hold. Adam allows himself to appear and flashes a smile at chilled. Chilled smiles timidly, still worried about his wellbeing around this mad man. I hear footsteps as more people are on the way. Chilled pulls out his weapon and points it at Adam, pretending to try and shoot him, missing on purpose.

"ITS GOT MAX!" I hear Sark yell. Oh no. Adam leaps up with superhuman abilities. He doesn't bother turning invisible seeming as they could see me. He clings to the roof, dodging bullets before swinging into a random room and locking the door behind him. Adam turns around quickly, pulling me into his arms and hugging tight. Was he....scared?

"They could have hurt you..." Adam was worried that I would get hurt? Somehow this makes me feel happy, knowing that Adam cares.

"It'll be okay, just go out that window and I'll go back to them, they won't hurt me" I say, sad that I have to let this wonderful man go when I only just got him back.

"Come with me" I freeze. I want to. But I can't. I need to stay with the IRIS, with my friends. But it will also mean not seeing Adam and if I go with him...no I can't.

"I'm sorry Adam, I can't." Adam suddenly gets angry, pushing me to the ground. I hear pounding in the door as the group finally found what room we were in. Adam pulls out his knife, pointing it at me. I begin to panic, he wouldn't hurt me right? Why did I allow myself to trust a man who murders for a living when I've only just met him? Adam shakes his head and steps back.

"You'll come with me one day. Whether you like it or not" Adam jumps out of the window just as the door busts open. What have I gotten myself into?
