Zookeeper (Hybrid!Taehyung x Reader)

"Alright... (Y/N)! We need you here right now! The audience is expecting Taehyung to come out sooner or later. We need to give them what they paid for!"

"One minute!" You shouted in response, shaking your head as you walked into Taehyung's 'bedroom.' "Tae~" you called quietly. "It's time for the show. Are you ready?"

On a bed made of blankets, something began moving around. You approached the bed, slowly crouching down as you got closer. You slowly reached your hands forwards, petting the large animal laying on the bed. It yawned and stretched out its paws, causing a smile to come onto your face. "Hey, it's time to wake up. It's another day of work," you said quietly.

You continued to pet the large animal, watching as its eyes slowly opened. The room was dimly lit, barely any light shining through the windows. The someone burst through the door, causing a bright flood of light to spread throughout the room. You turned to the door, seeing one of your colleagues standing there with an angry expression. "(Y/N), if this thing isn't going to get up soon, everyone is going to ask for a refund." Your colleague said furiously.

You sighed, "Can you just wait a little longer? It takes him a while to get up."

"Well you have to go on in five. It better be awake," your colleague said before leaving the room, slamming the door behind him.

You turned back to Taehyung, his eyes staring straight towards the door. "Hey," you began petting him again, causing him to turn back to you. "Don't worry about him. He doesn't know what he's talking about. You're the best one on the team."

Taehyung stretched and yawned again, slowly standing up. You stood up and watched as he walked towards the door, turning back to you and looking up at you. You opened the door for him, letting him leave his room. You followed after him, watching as he made his way to the habitat entrance. You leaned down and pet his head again, causing him to snuggle into your leg. "Now everyone," you heard your colleague. "For the tiger you've all been waiting for, Taehyung!"

Everyone around began clapping and cheering, your colleague came back inside with a scowl, glaring at you and Taehyung. You shook your head and rolled your eyes, crouching down to Taehyung's height. You patted his back, "That's your cue. Good luck entertaining everyone."

Taehyung looked at you before walking out, the audience erupting into even louder cheers. You watched from inside as he climbed up some rocks, getting close to some of the people in the audience. A few kids reached out and pet him, all of them growing more excited. The crowd quieted down as Taehyung walked around, interacting with a few people from the crowd.

You smiled to yourself as he leaned into a few of the people's hands. He really liked people. It took him a while before he was comfortable with having a lot of people around but then slowly grew to love people. One day, Taehyung was walking around the habitat and saw a little boy. He approached him and sat down in front of the child. The child reached his hand forward towards Taehyung's head and you were about to run out when you saw Taehyung leaning his head closer to the boy. But you stopped yourself once you realized he was allowing the boy to pet his head. That's when you realized he started to like people, even if he's never met them before.

You remember telling your colleague about it when Taehyung had went to sleep. Your colleague thought that you were being crazy, telling you that there was nothing that could benefit the zoo from that small thing. But the next day, you saw that there were more people coming around the habitat, reaching towards Taehyung as he walked around. You showed your colleague the recordings later that day and told you the same thing. But a week later, your boss and the owner of the zoo came around and told you about putting out something that let people know that they can pet Taehyung. Of course you were angry, asking how she found out. And she told you that your colleague told her about it.
