It's more than a year after I started my 'Take Care Of My Natural Hair" Journey. I am very happy with the results i am seeing and I have expectedly updated and changed not only products and regimens but also my opinion on a few things.
So here goes;
-I currently use no heat at all
-I used a lot more natural products
-I rarely shampoo
-I use more oils
-I don't stick as tightly to my regimen
-I try to wear more low maniuplation styles
So my hair is currently just past shoulder length and I am hoping for it to reach bra strap by end of 2013. To do this, I will use protective, low manipulation styles such as senegalese twists. I did this in the new year for the first time, so I will update you all on how that went. As for now, I think they are better than single braids because;
1. They will take less time to put in and take out
2. They are easier to take out (less knots=less breakage)
3. They are a bit less common
4. They can be styled just as easily
UPDATE; i had senegalese twists put in twice during the first 5 months of the year and kept them both in for about 2 months. I changed up the style by curling them with bendy rollers after i had had them in for a long period of time. They took quite long to do, almost 8 hours. The first ones i had reached my bum. I have a picture with them on my Instagram: BoluNoelle.
I really liked them and I love the way they looked and the difference of twists instead of braids.
{Hair Info:
-about 4-5 packs on Kanekalon 'Xpressions' hair used
-colours i chose were 1 and 33. 33 was installed toward the back and 1 was used in the front.
-hair is just 2 pounds per pack. I'm sure there are cheap brands available internationally.
(2 pounds is just over 3 dollars)}
For my prom, I had my friend straighten my hair using the comb chase method with a straightemer on 190 degrees. She went over the hair no more than twice.
Prior to straightening, my hair had been heat protected with IC Fantasia's Heat Protectant Spray. I will have pictures up on my Instagram :)
My prom was last Friday and a week later I still have my hair straightened
I am not too obsessive over my hair growth anymore, but I do use more natural products. THis means things that can be found at home already!
Please guys let me know if you would like me to structure these blogs differently. I am about to change it so that info can be easily found. So I will upload different tips for different things within their own chapter. This means more frequent updates! Also if you would like me to write about something, you can message me and I will try to put them up asap.
Thankyou for all your love and support. Spread the word my my kinky curley afro haired girleys. Mwah xo
