Here I was just thinking about the morning song, laying in the beautiful sunlight, slowly drifting off to sleep when something smashed into me. rolling me off my rock and into the river. I am floundering in the water.

To shocked to think I let out a squawk swallowing water, I am tumbling and rolling in the current. Not being able to find the surface. I panic, taking more and more water into my lungs. my limbs became heavy straining to fight the current, to find air. something priced my left wing tearing it up. The water around me became red and I picked up speed as my head reached the surface I tried to inhale a breath, but got more water instead.

yelling through the mind link for help. They are trying to get me out, as well as someone else when Tom yelled " shit the waterfall, quickly get the Kymari !!" Tom was calling for Alec and Soranto.  It was too late, I was falling fast over the edge with gallons of water smashing me into the rocks, breaking my scales with each impact. The sound of bones breaking was the last thing I can remember.

Slowly I opened my eyes to try to figure out where I was. But I can't see!! everything is black, maybe I haven't opened them after all. then I focus on my hearing the Kymari where all around me I recognise Soranto's voice
" How is she "
I hear a female answering his question " All her bones on the left side of her body are broken. the internal bleeding and damage to her organs were severe, we have repaired as much as we could. it seems her head injuries are the most severe I have ever seen." I hear her take a deep breath before she continues "She may not make it to the morning, all we can do for now is to keep her stable and hope to see some improvement"
I tried to stay awake but wasn't able to

I was floating in and out, I don't know for how long. still, all I see is darkness. My sense of smell was so overwhelming. I could smell so many things but at the same time, I couldn't  Identify anything specific. That female voice spoke again "Elder Dairno please come in "
"How is our young green lady today" the elder spoke so softly yet firmly
"She has been improving but the swelling in her brain has caused her eyes to rupture and the bleeding couldn't be controlled. I'm afraid she may have permanent damage to them, we cannot know for sure at this stage, her throat and jaw have severe swelling and are getting worse, and feeding her through IV has had little effect we are trying out the strongest healing methods for animals we have but are not seeing much improvement.  all we can do is wait"
"Have you tried a feeding tube directly to her stomach?" the elder asked

My mouth was so dry and sore but the taste in my mouth was of the gel we made our flame with. there was too much in my mouth to swallow safely, I had to get it out or it would poison me. I slowly lift my head to move it away from the voices breathe deeply and try to open my jaw but it won't shift. The flame ignited but had nowhere to go, I started to panic but could barely move. A beeping sound picks up speed in the background but I pay little heed to it and keep trying to open my mouth
" stop! remove the binding on her jaw and move back now " the elder said in a controlled yet firm tone. The pressure on my jaw was released and the flame that shot forth was hotter than I had ever made before
"Did you see the colour of that flame it was white and blue" the female voice spoke
"They have only had red and yellow before !"
The elder answered "It must have been a build-up and could have been why the damage in her throat has been getting worse" They continued to talk but I was too tired to listen, now that the taste was gone. I fell back to sleep listening to the sound of their voices.

The next time I woke the smell and noises were different it was quiet, no animal noise or talking Kymari. I could smell Kymari yet I couldn't feel anything near me just warm sand and heat from above where am I? I tried to move my tail to help see what was around me but pain radiated up the whole length of my body. Making me scream out in anguish. I heard something sliding with a faint hiss and footsteps then I felt something close to me. My breathing was shallow and rapid, the pain from that action alone made me close to passing out.

A voice spoke "Hello young lady I'm Elder Dairno I know you can understand us and can communicate with us"That beeping noise was back, as I tried to move to get away but my body felt like stone.
"Please calm down we will never harm you. That's it slow breaths" I was trying to slow my breathing to reduce the tightness and stabbing pain in my chest.

The voice continues talking "The reason I'm communicating with you so openly is that your case is server and I would like to know your opinion on how we proceed"

I'm so shocked and scared I thought only the handlers knew we could talk not the Elders we are doomed. My mind is spinning around so fast what do I do? They already seem to know but to speak with an elder directly could mean death
"Please calm I must speak to you quickly as I wish for you to no longer be in pain, and back to resting.  The medication seems to block mental communication so please can we talk then I can make you more comfortable."

I take a deep breath pain shooting all over my body with the movement and that is when I give in i need the pain to stop soon " What do you need to discuss Elder" unable to block my pain from my voice
"Your treatment is the most important, I'll try to be quick your pain is immense, It appears that your eyes are damaged and you are now blind there is a 15% chance we can bring some visual elements back through surgery or we can leave them be. Also, you have at least 9 months of recovery before you will be able to move around so placement with a handler is necessary, would you like to pick your handler or for me to select someone"
"What are the risks if the surgery goes wrong"
We don't know because your genetics are so complicated we cannot predict the outcomes either way we can only try and review" he hesitated as if unsure about his next statement I could feel his unease.
"If we go into more depth to find the answers we need for you. your kind will be put at risk and I cannot allow that at this time"
" I would like to try surgery please, and I would like to pick my handler please Elder Dairno" I was trying to think but the pain was overwhelming me and shone through each word I spoke
" oh my dear thank you I will get you your medication I'm sorry for putting you through this pain, we can discuss more when you are feeling better," the elder said
