Hide and seek

Baylesh was down, overwhelmed with the amount of Kymari technology in the area. causing his gift to overload. Foggy was captured by a ship trying to outrun five ships.

Mapper picketed up Baylesh and the Kymari started running. when a net was shot from one of the ships overhead. With a battle scream. I let loose a spray of flame at it, melting a huge hole in it as it passed over me. It lands on the Kymari on the ground. They jumped through the hole in the netting and continued running. My senses flared and I shot forward to intercept the elite Kymari unit ahead of the group.

Meanwhile, Drae was setting up a mind link in a section of his mind with the three Kymari with him and a separate one using his empathetic gift as a translator to communicate with Foggy.

I shot a series of fireballs at the elite Kymari. targeting the lead one in the group, I was aiming to use my claws. At the last minute had to evade a blast from his phaser. I dived under the blasts with a quick rollover flaring my wings to regain my flight path. I barely managed to dodge the strike of his hand holding his weapon, it bashed into my left wing. He let out a primal scream as I passed.

The sound faded into background noise, and I felt several phase shots heading in my direction. They had my sole attention as I tried desperately to doge. I needed to get height as well as speed. Desperate to get into clear air space.

I missed the strike from the elite Kymari hiding in the tree above my position. The impact from the right hit me clean out of the air. I smashed headfirst into the dirt and rolled. I tried to get to my feet. When hands pinned my wings to my body, me to the dirt. I was too disoriented to move my head just yet. When I was suddenly released the Kymari above me, started screaming. I could smell burning flesh. One other elite Kymari to the left was reaching for his kit. I tried using the distraction to move. When my tail and back legs were seized by a Rannoleavers fleer.

I was dragged through the undergrowth so fast and still so disoriented that I was struggling to focus. Bumping over rocks and dragged back through the bushes. I tucked my wings close to the top of my back, ready to launch into the air. A second one wrapped around my mouth, head and shoulders. The speed I was moving increased the sound of battle was fading, I started to panic. Hitting rock after rock under a root maze my wings were taking a battering. My right-wing snagged on a small branch it stretched painfully past my head before being ripped free by the force of the second vine dragging me. I tucked my wings closer to my sides. Which strangely stopped the vines advancing wrapping my middle.

"Boom" The group shook with the impact of a Kymari ship hitting the ground. It landed in the patch of Rannoleavers I was heading towards. dust and debris flew into the air.

The shipwreck erupted into a ball of flames rolling in my direction. The vines holding me tightened squeezing the air from my lungs then dropped and loosened. I was trying to wiggle free when Drea's voice came over the mind link. "May get in the air now" he was panicked just then the flames of the explosions engulfed me.

Thank goodness for my fireproof scales, the heat was mild compared to my flame. The flame freed me from the vines and I managed to get into the air.

My head was finally clear, I focused on my surroundings. Three elite Kymari were chasing me. It seems they were caught in the same flames. Each one was injured and they had My groups a short distance behind. On Drae's tail were two elite Kymari and a mix of Kymari soldiers. We had predators incoming from all directions Kymari battling them and trying to surround our position.

Another  Kymari ship above me was damaged and looked to be trying its land. "May head east now we can meet up after we crash" came Keal's mind voice, I shared it automatically with the group. After the shock of sensing Sasha and Keal on the damaged ship wore off I replied. "no Drea wants you to pick us up" Drae and I were trying to figure out a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants plan, and this was it.

"Baylesh can we take over your gift," I asked him " ok but it hurts I don't think it will do any good" Drea took over using our combined gifts. Aided by Baylesh gifts and knowledge Drea stole from Soranto's mind. It seems he was close by somewhere in the air battle.

He went about getting the damaged ship repaired. once we were safely aboard. We discovered it was two elder factions, in a battle to secure the four Kymari and us.

We managed to coordinate the battle by tapping into our gift and working with the three Kymari. it was strange it was like all of our minds were melded. our instincts were used only when they were activated.

My mind seems to focus only on all our combined instincts. I processed all the incoming information. I delivered the group warnings. Interpreting important things I found through intuitive feelings and senses.

My mapping was incorporated into the mapping of Kymari's gift. His name is Torvald. we had to tune mine so they were on compatible frequencies. still separate but no pain.

It was a collective Kymari capture mind solution, as I was more open about adapting. They started playing with my gift in the background while playing battleships with the enemy Kymari. Soranto activated a new camouflaged shield on the fleet. We were playing hide, seek and destroy.

S'eloa has an ability like Drae's mind reading, but he is more long-term memory retrieval. similar to my blood memories but collected by his gift from other's minds.

Baylesh gift allowed us to disable all of the enemy ships and retrieve Foggy. we discovered his name was Kjellfrid. we managed to move him to an allied ship, Soranto was on with Tessa, Airalin and Rick.

The group mind bank as Kjellfrid named it, allows us to get into orbit.
We then realised our combined gifts couldn't work once we left the atmosphere of the planet. So we separated and blocked each other's minds. We settled into trying to find out what the hell was going on. Leaving the captain of the ships to get us to a safe place.

"Ok will someone please explain what is going on," said S'eloa." who are you involved with and where are you taking us" his voice was directed at Drea's location before he could speak, a buzzing noise went through the room. A shield similar energy field to what I used against the Elders appeared and suppressed our gifts.

Then there was a gas poured into the room. the last thing I heard was Sasha chirping aggressively in Dragonet "What are you doing you, stupid green giant women, they are never going to trust us if you pull this shit on them" and a return chirping but in deeper and ruffer tones " well I don't trust them! it doesn't look, as if it's a fire lizard we were sent for"
