Break Down My Walls

Prologue
Growing up was never easy, being independent was forced upon me. I use to be daddy’s little girl, and mommy’s everything. That all changed the day my parents decided to split and go their separate ways. They had always had a love hate relationship, but I guess the hate overpowered their love for eachother, or so it felt like it watching them argue every night. Some nights worse than others, times when my father would even end up staying a few days in a jail cell. My parents happy lives soon turned into a nightmare. More so for me than it did them. It was ten times worse than a punch to the face. I had rather been beat than watch my father leave. The day he left is the day my hate for men grew and my heart could no longer control the pain it felt, naturally it just hardened itself building layers during the process. Eventually I grew accustomed to the cold hearted life and so did everyone around me. I was known as the girl who never smiled, was too serious, didn’t know how to love, never could and never would.
