As I road down Gotham's snowy streets my ears picked up the sound of glass shattering. I taped the bikes stealth button, the engine went quiet and the lights turned off. I turned the corner to pull over in a nearby alley. I turned off the bike and it collapsed into the metal stick. I wonder if there is a jewelry store around here. That would explain the broken glass I heard. I thought while putting away the bike back onto my belt. I closed my eyes and listened to the sounds in the air. "Oh, honey! I love the gift! Thank you!" A woman said from somewhere in the distance. Nope. Maybe over here? I thought while rotating a little to the left. "Ya, I'm going over to his house right now. I think he wants too..." No! Definitely not that. Maybe this way? As I took another step to the left I could hear them. "Look at all of this! Diamonds, rubies and emeralds. Everything we could wish for." A mans voice said roughly. Bingo. I teleported inside the jewelry store to find to guys dressed in black head to toe. Mask, pants, you name it it was black. "Just hurry up before we get caught." The taller one said in a deeper voice. "A little late for that boys." I said as I leaned against the sales counter.

They both jumped and pulled out their guns, aiming them at me. I just smiled, "Oh, come on. Where is your holiday spirit?" "Look miss, we don't want any trouble. Just let us go or we'll pull the trigger." "Oh no, what should I do?" I said sarcastically as I crossed my arms over my chest. "We're serious! We will do it!" The short one said thrusting his gun forward. "Just put down the bags. Then you just get charged with braking and entering. Win, win." I smiled coolly. "No way, the police don't even know we are here yet. We disabled the alarm." The larger one said while throwing the bag over his shoulder, the other followed his motion. Looks like we got some runners. "The police are the least of your worries boys, without even a snap of my fingers I could have you both dead. But that's a little far. Don't you think?" I said stepping towards them. "Don't move. I'll shoot!" The short one yelled. "Honey, your shaking." I smiled, then he pulled the trigger.

The bluet stoped midair, "That's not going to work on me, nice try thought. Really good effort." I said while slowly clapping my hands. Their faces were in total shock, their eyes were wide and their mouths dropped open. "Dude lets get out of here!" The small one said throwing his gun at me. The two of them jumped back out the window and took off down the street. "Where are you two going, I wasn't done negotiating." I called after them. "Man, I was really hoping for more of a fight." I sighed. I hopped out the window and looked to see if I could see them. Well they are out of sight. I think that's a good enough head start.

"Ready or not here I come." I smiled. Then I heard a crash of garbage cans not to far away. Come on guys. I teleported on top of a roof near where the sound came from. " Do you think she heard that?" The short one said picking up some jewelry that he dropped. "Na, she would have to have better hearing than Superman." The other said while he looked around the corner of the building. "Ya, I would have to have pretty good hearing. You know you could have at least planed a exit rout that wasn't scheduled for garbage pickup today." I said dropping from the building. "Drop the bags boys." I said while using my telekinesis to lift them off the ground, they grasped their necks letting go of their bags. "Now, was that so hard?" I said while slightly tilting my head to the side. "Let us go!" they whimpered. "I will. But first we stop by the police station." I said picking up the bags. "No, not there. They will arrest us." "Ya, we will go to jail." The smaller one chimed in. "Well I either tie you up and leave you freezing in the jewelry store while you wait for the police, or I just take you straight there. Your choice." "Fine. You win." The tall one said with a sigh. "I always do." I smiled.

I returned the jewelry to the store, fixed the windows with my telekinesis and turned back on the security system. Then wrote a note for the owner, stating what had happened and that everything is back to how they left it. Then I took the two men to the police station. Avoiding the sight of the police I watched them take the two med in from a building across the street, I smiled as they told the police what they did. I just love mind tricks. Those fools will tell the police anything now. After they were taken inside I thought about one of the necklaces I saw in the jewelry store. I teleported back to find it in an individual case laid out elegantly. It's was a long necklace with one black sapphire in the shape of a teardrop. Why didn't they touch this one? It looks important, and black sapphire is rare. I lifted my hand placing it palm up, turning over the necklace with my telekinesis. On the back of the sapphire was white and had a symbol. The symbol was crescent moon in circled by a sun. An image flashed in my mind of that symbol on a large pillar somewhere far away. I regained my mind feeling a little fuzzy. I turned my hand palm down and the necklace returned back to its original state. Those two should be done their processing now, time for a little iteration.

I teleported right into their cell, scaring them nearly out of their pants. "Ahhh!" The both screamed. "Shhh! Keep it down." I said bringing my finger to my lips. "What are you doing here?" The tall one said taking a step towards me. "Yah, you already caught us. And we are behind bars until our trial anyway." The shorter one chimed in. "Sit!" I said in a angry tone as I flashed my eyes red. The both took a few steps back and sat down on the lower bunk. There was a necklace in the store, the only one with an individual case. Why didn't you take it?" I said as I leaned back on the wall behind me. "We were going to but I heard voices when I got close." The big guy said as he rubbed the back of his now bald head. "Voices? You heard voices?" I said cocking an eyebrow, not that they could tell behind my mask anyway. I didn't hear anything. "Ya, then I remembered a legend about it." The little one said starring off into the distance. "Here we go again with his story." I big one said rolling his eyes. "Hey, it's true!" The little one said snapping out of this little trance, and glaring at his partner. "It's cursed." The small one said turning his attention back towards me. "Shut up." The tall one said standing up. "Sit." I said in a demanding voice. He sat immediately. "Let him speak." I said nodding towards his partner.

"There is a legend that it's cursed because people can here the cries of two spirits trapped inside." He said in a eerie voice. "That's it?" I questioned not understanding why. "No, if you want to here the rest you have to pay me." He smiled. His friend and him bumped fists. I smiled. I took a step towards them as I drew my sword. I held it against his friends throat, "How much blood will that be? All of it?" I giving him a cold look. "No! Put down the weapon and I'll tell you!" He said standing up and putting his hands out in front of him. I stepped back drawing in my weapon. Suckers. I looked at short one and crossed my arms. "Forgetting something are we?" I said nodding towards his friend. "Oh, right." He said hurly taking a seat. "Legend says that a mighty god used his kid to trap another god. Fusing them together in one body, that necklace belonged to that fusion. That's why you can hear their cries." He said staring at the floor like it was hard for him to talk about. "So why is it on Earth?" I asked, "It was all over the news years ago. It crashed here nearly 30 years ago, it was in a museum for years. It was sold to a couple of rich buyers a few times, moving across the world to different people. Getting sold for cheaper every time, like they were trying to get rid of it." He said like he was trying to make sense out of it too. "So it just ended up in that store by accident then. And the glass and individual case is because it's cursed." I said saying the new information out loud. "I would assume." The short one said standing up to stretch. "Thank you gentlemen, one day I'll have to repay you." "You could get us out of here." The tall one said standing up. "I said one day, not today." I smiled, then teleported out.
