"Blind? How could it be blind, it's hot on Superman's tail and won't shake." I asked pointing out my observation. "Okay, it might be tracking his bright colours. I read it in a book once..." "So it might have Synesthesia?" I interrupted. "Sure, that sounds familiar." Wally agreed. "Batman. That monster's weak spot might be its eyes. It might have Synesthesia." I said into the intercom. "It's eyes respond to colors? I'll pass it around." Bruce said nonchalantly. Soon Wonder Woman, Superman, and Green lantern were all delivering blows to the monster's face. I turned my attention back to the beast, flying straight towards it. The monster let out a angry screech, and a white symbol appeared on its forehead. The beast opened it's large jaws and unleashed a powerful blast of fire. I pulled up on the throttle, dodging the flames. Why does everything have to be a dark monster or fire? Wait, that symbol... "Dude! Your on fire!"
Wally's voice interrupted my thoughts. "Huh?" I said confused, I looked back to see smoke building up at the back of the cockpit. "Dang it." I mumbled and prepared to land. As the tail of the jet burned, the plane started to dive down at an alarming rate. I pulled back on the throttle as hard as I could, but the plane continued on its dangerous slope. "Eject!" Bruce yelled over the intercom. I pulled back on the eject lever, it launches me out of the burning jet and into the air. The ejected seat launched its parachute, lowering me to the groundwater I watched the Batjet crash into the street below. It erupted in huge flames, that Aquaman and Aqualad put out quickly. Once hitting the ground I took off for the nearest library. Wally met me there with a confused look on his face, "Uh, the monster this is that way." He pointed out. I ignored him as I entered the library heading straight for the mythology section.
"Why are we in here?" Wally asked confusedly, "I'm looking for a book." "I can see that.." Wally grumbled. My eyes finally caught the sight of an old Greek mythology book, with old leather cover and frayed bindings. I flipped through the pages quickly, stopping on the image I was searching for. A crescent moon encircled by a sun. "The tale of the two sisters?" Wally asked confusedly. "I don't see how this is relevant." He continued. I began to summarize the story out loud. "There once was two sisters, both daughters of a mighty god. One born with magic the spread happiness, love and life, the other magic that caused darkness, sorrow and death. As they grew, the younger sister grew jealous of her sisters powers that spread joy. She grew bitter and malicious, making multiple attempts on her sisters life." As I flipped the page and image of creature much like the monster outside battled a gorgeous woman dressed in white. I paused to stare at the image, Wally took the book out of my hands to study the image. "You don't think..." he paused not wanting to have his fears confirmed. "Yes." I answered mindlessly.
"How do you defeat a god? Not to mention the Goddess of evil?" Wally asked in a panic. "You can't..." I paused, "Only another god can." Wally continued the story, "The two sisters fought for years, each battle ending the same. Good taking over evil. One battle was so bad it enraged their father, the mighty god punished the two. One banished to a dark fiery wasteland, the other to live alone in a dark dungeon. After years of their punishment darkness crept over the land, poisoning crops and livestock. The goddess of evil had brakes out of her dimension and wreak havoc on the land. The other sister was set free to send her equal back to her dimension. The two fought a in a battle of good and evil, resulting in good rising above evil." Wally flipped the page showing the great battle. The two warriors charging with their weapons drawn, they both looked elegant and frightening at the same time. I took my turn reading again, "As they battled the mighty god counselled the other gods. They decided to banish them both to a world of different magic, where they would have to relearn how to use their powers. As they attempted to put their plan in motion they twins had I mighty clash, sending a pulse of their powers through the air. When the other gods collected their strength the twins were nowhere to be seen. Their weapons laid on the ground next two a bundle of their clothes. Under the bundle was a small baby, it's hair changing from black to white as a mark on it's forehead did the same. The god's attempted to reverse their mistake, but discovered that without one their couldn't be another. They decided to for fill the rest of their plans, sending the baby to the new world." I finished. Wally and I both drew in a shaky breath.
"So it's not just the Goddess of evil we need to defeat, but her sister too?" Wally asked in a dase. I nodded slowly, "I guess we have a problem." "Well I see that." Wally said with a bit of attitude. I grabbed another book off the shelf as I handed the other book to Wally. "The only weapon that's can kill the monster is the Blade of Éntono fos." I pointed out. "The what?" Wally said dumbfounded. "It means bright light. It belongs to the the good sister." I said as I flipped through the pages of the newer book. It's pages smooth from the lack of contact. "The good sister? Doesn't she have a name? Something elegant like Rose or-" I finally found the section about swords, "Sapphire..." I said almost like a whisper, "No, but it's nice." Wally smiled. "No, really." I said pointing to the name on the page. Wally peered over my shoulder, "Well... it could be worse, like Karl." Wally shrugged. "Karl? That's not a girl name." "I know." Wally smiled. Or eyes landed on the picture of the sword. "Is that..?" Wally said slowly. "It looks like the same material as Nightslash's weapons... and it has the same symbol on its handle too." I pointed out. My head started to spin as the situation pieced it self together. "Nightslash is the monster.." the words tumbled out of my mouth slowly.
