Boy, was Travis having a shitty day. Of course, practically every student in Nockfell High could tell, since he would usually take it out on them. Especially Sally.

This shitty day was all due to Travis's father. What else would it ever be? He had not only a black eye, but bruises lining both of his arms, his left one was even more decked up than the right due to Travis trying oh so desperately to block the pummels that were raining down on him. They were always raining down on him, in truth.

So because of Travis's salty mood, Sally was staying far away from him, even farther than usual. This only proceeded to piss off Travis more.

No, not because he wanted to be near that freak. Of course not. That would be.. Odd. Travis was not odd.

It pissed him off because, well, in truth, he had no clue. He didn't want Sal to fear him, but he knew that would never be true, obviously Travis had traumatized the blue-haired boy enough to make him never not fear him. Thinking of that only made the pain in his chest worse, as to why, he had no idea.

Maybe he had some sort of idea.

But as per usual, he would ignore it. Stupid thought it was anyhow. To top all of this off, Sal seemed to be having an awful day as well. This made Travis's day even worse. Nobody could tell if that boy was sad, the mask covered any signs of it, but Travis could tell. For one reason or another, he knew Sal was upset.

Perhaps it was because Larry and Ash weren't here today. Ash had taken Larry with her on a family vacation, Sal not going because he didn't want to leave his father. Travis didn't know about any of that, but he assumed that it might have made him upset, being alone most of the day besides lunch with his other friends.

Travis knew that Sal favored Ash and Larry over them all, though. It was painfully obvious.

Despite Sal probably wanting to go, he had stayed, and Travis had no clue why. Why he would want to stay in this horrid place for any longer than he needed to. Whatever, it didn't matter anyways. Sal didn't matter anyways.

Sal did matter.

Travis pretended that last thought didn't even occur and continued walking down the hallway, grateful that the bell had finally rung and that he didn't have to watch Sal hang his head during math anymore. It was like torture, watching that boy be sad over something other than him. A disgusting realization, really.

Sal and Travis usually walked the same way towards the bus stop, but today was different. The masked kid was nowhere to be seen. He pretended he was scoping the surroundings for something else, but he knew exactly what he was searching for. Blue, any sight of blue he could find. Anything, yet nothing turned up.

Shrugging off the weird empty feeling he had, he continued forward-

Thump

"H-hey! Watch where you're going, dumbass!"

Someone had bumped right into him, and as he looked down, he realized it was exactly who he was looking for, laying there on the ground. Travis knew he was much bigger than Sal, but to knock him over that easy was kind of awkward.

"S-sorry.."

Sal's voice came out in only a whisper. His single apology felt as if it had just slapped Travis in the face. He looked behind him, wondering why Sal was running away from the bus instead of towards it.

Woof!

Sal clearly jumped. Infact, he jumped straight up, running behind Travis, holding onto the taller boy's backpack as if his entire damn life depended on it. What the hell?
