When I think back to the horrid day when Anna and I got into a car accident so many memories come flowing to my head. I am grateful to Anna for so many things and I never got the chance to fully thank her for that. Anna helped to show me that no one is perfect we all have flaws. No matter what Anna could always make me smirk. Whether it was making fun of me, herself, or someone else, Anna always had a funny comment in her. Even though Anna and I had only known each other for a short time, I grew to love Anna more and more every day. It pains me to think of the amazing feats Anna Fitzgerald never accomplished. Writing this makes me stop and appreciate everything I have in a way I never was able to understand before meeting you, Anna. I miss you everyday Anna.

Kate's Chapter

I tend to blame myself. Anna I am so sorry for how everything turned out. I should be dead right now, not you. Everyone tells me I can't blame myself for what happened to you. But is that really true? Every day I ask myself that question. I know you would not want me 'wasting' time over this as you would say, but it's so hard because in everyone's hearts they know it should have been me. I do try though. Since being cancer free, I started teaching ballet and I have made some lovely new friends who almost remind me of you with their sarcastic sense of humor and genuine kindness that you always had. Mom and dad miss you so much. I miss you so much. I will always love you Anna.

I bet right now you are laughing at me way up in heaven. You probably think it's hysterical the way I turned out, helping other people out. Ha I know! Who would have thought, the weird brother who was bound to end up in jail ended up as a firefighter. You should know I turned my life around for you. I figured since you aren't here to continue making your mark on the world, I would help you finish your work. So Kudos to you Anna, you've turned me into the man I am today!
