The kiss is long and tender, just how Louis imagined it - even though he would never tell anyone that - and Louis gets lost in Harry's lips. It's quite confusing to be in the middle of kissing someone and at the same time hearing their inner thoughts, so Louis tries cutting off his power, but he can't when he's this close to the boy, and he definitely doesn't want to move away.
Fortunately, not at lot of thoughts go through Harry's mind other than a continuation of the words wow and oh my God.
Harry's lips are plump and soft, and Louis can honestly say he's never kissed someone as good as Harry. But there is only the competition of four other people, so not really a lot.
There's no tongue in the kiss, which is what makes it genuine and tender, just how Louis has always imagined his first kiss with someone. He likes the rough and the lust a lot, don't get him wrong, but this is the typical fairytale kiss that everyone dreams about.
Louis pulls back after a while to breath properly and he makes eye contact with Harry again, both boys having incredulous smiles plastered on their faces.
"Hi." Harry says and Louis laughs at the boy and answers with a hi back.
"You don't have to carry me any longer if you're tired." Louis assures insecurely.
"I'm not. You're light, like a feather." Harry smiles, which makes Louis grin as well.
Louis and Harry share a few more moments of peaceful silence until Harry speaks up again.
"So...." He says, biting down on his lip to hide the gigantic smile.
"Yup....." Louis leans in and places another kiss on Harry's lips. "We should probably get back to rehearsing the dance, right?" Louis says and makes a move to step down on the ground again so Harry lowers him down.
"Probably....or we could just keep-" Harry hasn't even finished his sentence before Louis' jumping at him and his lips are against the boy's again. It catches Harry off guard, making him stumble to the ground with Louis following right after. Luckily they land softly because of the cushions protecting the floor. Harry's lying on the ground, Louis on top of him, as they keep making out.
It becomes a little more heated when Harry sits up and pulls Louis' legs around his waist, so he's sitting securely in his lap. Louis then gets the nerve to open his mouth and run his tongue over Harry's closed mouth, to which the boy instantly opens his as well. Harry and Louis both gasp into the kiss when their tongues meet for the first time, leaving them both in chuckles at their reaction.
Soon, though, they're back to making out. Louis entwines his hands behind Harry's neck and Harry's hands are placed firmly on each side of Louis' waist.
"I could keep doing this forever."
"Me too." Louis answers without thinking about it and quickly discovers, by the way Harry pulls back at the speed of lightning, that he responded to a thought and not something Harry said out loud.
"W-what?" Harry says tentatively.
"Hm?" Louis tries acting like he doesn't know what Harry's talking about, but he fails miserably since he's looking like a deer caught in the headlights.
"Why'd you say that?" Harry questions further and Louis knows he messed up.
"Say what?"
"You know what." Harry says, searching Louis' eyes for an honest answer.
"Um, I'm not sure if we should keep having this conversation."
"But why did- how- did you...read my mind?" Harry asks incredulously.
"Whaaaat....no of course not." Louis lies, but the lie is clear on his face.
"I don't believe you."
Louis groans and rubs his face in both hands. "This was not supposed to happen." He mumbles to himself, but loud enough for Harry to hear it since Louis' still sitting in his lap.
"You did read my mind!" Louis' hand flies up to cover Harry's mouth and he shushes him. "Don't say it so loud!" Louis fumbles off of Harry to have a serious conversation with him and they both stand up.
"Oh my God," Harry says, eyes wide and mouth hanging open. "I can't believe this."
"Me neither." Louis mumbles, feeling stupid for exposing himself like that.
"But how?"
"I'm not sure to be honest, I was just born with the ability to read minds and here I am..." Louis says carefully not wanting to scare Harry away. He isn't loosing another person because of this twisted life of his.
Harry stands incredulous for a couple of moments, not being able to wrap his head around the situation.
"I don't....I can't...I think you should leave." He finally speaks after struggling to form a sentence and Louis feels a stone dropping to his heart.
"No, don't," Harry starts taking careful steps backwards, looking pointedly in the direction of the front door. "Please, Harry, I can explain this."
"What? There's nothing to explain. You just have to go." At that moment, Anne and Gemma appear in the doorway, on their way to make themselves tea.
"But Harry-" Tears are starting to form in Louis' eyes, because even though he practically just met the boy, he didn't want to say goodbye so soon.
"What's happening?" Anne questions, seeing both boys in a state of panic.
"I just- I can't deal with this right now. You need to go." Harry's hands are pulling on his hair and he looks like he might break at any seconds, so Louis carefully steps forward and traces his finger up Harry's forearm with tears in his eyes. As soon as he touches Harry though, the taller boy is quick to step back further.
"Harry, please just hear me out." Louis looks brokenly at the boy as silent tears roll down his cheeks and he can taste the salty liquid in his mouth.
"Boys? Harry, what's happened?" Anne presses again, completely oblivious to the whole thing.
"I just need to think. This is too much. Please go." Harry finally makes eye contact with Louis, his eyes showing pure fear and sadness. Louis' eyes fall to the ground, knowing he has to leave.
He looks at Harry a last time, smears some of the tears off his face and starts walking out of the house. As he walks out he can hear the deep breathings in Harry's mind.
"I'm sorry, Lou. This is just a lot right now."
When Louis closes the door behind him, he squeezes his eyes shot and lets out a loud sob that Harry undoubtedly could hear. He then starts running towards his bike, picking it up and racing off to God knows where.
He doesn't have much faith Harry will want to even talk to him again after this and it's killing him honestly.
