Toni's pov:
I stretched my back for the seventh time that day and groaned as each of my vertebrae, in protest, made an individual cracking noise. My case lay on the bed and countless messy piles of clothes strewn across my bedroom floor.
"You gonna take these?" Came the rough voice of Sweetpea as he chucked another pile of books at me.
"Of course she's not idiot," responded Fangs, lazily picking up on of the fallen books and lobbing it back at Sweetpea. It hit him with a satisfactory smack on the arm. I turned to grin at the perpetrator but fangs was already halfway out the room.
"That's it, I'm coming for you, you little shit!" shouted Sweetpea, hurtling out of the door and after the smaller Serpent.
Amused, I turned back to my task at hand- packing for college was no easy task. I had managed to create three piles: essentials, useful and expendable but as of yet not much success in organising any of it.
I had called Sweetpea and Fangs to help, they were both my oldest friends in Riverdale. We had grown up is the same southside neighbourhood, same gang, same school and ran the streets together until dusk. Now it would all change. I was going to be the first serpent heading off to university- let alone it being Yale!
I'd invited Betty too, she was my sole female friend at Riverdale high, but her duties called her elsewhere and she was currently helping her other friend- the one and only Cheryl, HBIC of riverdale, pack for her own college experience.
Cheryl. Last night had been a whirl wind of events and emotions. I could still feel the faint tingle of her kiss on my lips. It bought back a familiar situation years before- not that she would ever remember...

[Toni has just joined Riverdale high]
The books fell out my locker for the fourth time that day: History, English and Maths pages now littered the floor. I should have just left them there and saved my self the embarrassment of not being able to reach the towering shelf within. A small crowd had gathered around me yet instead of helping a collection of phones seemed to be filming my every move. I could already imagine the videos later on instagram- the caption reading 'Are all the new residents from Southside high going to be this small?'. I could already smell the nicknames that I would be called in these hallways 'shortie', 'dawf' and 'elf 'to name a few. Yes elf wasn't a common one but Christmas had come around and people suddenly thought they were clever if they managed to come up with another metaphor for my height.
I shoved the books into my worn rucksack standing quickly pulled my hoodie down over my head to avoid the flash of the phones still recording. A rush of murmurs spread as I walked off down the hall flicking the crowd off. It was never easy being the new girl.
I turned off the main corridor into an empty classroom to compose myself.
"Come on Topaz just get through today," I encouraged myself out loud- starting somewhere new was never easy. I knew that. I had dine it several times. It wasn't really my fault but the accidents just seemed to follow me. The type of accidents that could get you expelled.
"Rough day?" Came a cool, sharp voice from behind me. After jumping out of my skin, I turned in a frustrated manner- was there nowhere in this school you could have a little privacy? I was met with a tall attractive redhead who was rocking back on the haunches of her chair in a rather precarious manner.
"Yes, It's been Hell," I muttered quickly before making my way swiftly towards the door.
"Wait, not even an introduction to you student body president Cheryl Blossom- or Bombshell as most call me?" She questioned in demanding tone, I had met these type of girls before, they would do anything for an ounce of power. Best was to keep out of there way.
