I arrived early at the place where my friends set where we can play soccer. Since some guys are still playing on the field, I decided to drown myself in some before game playlist.
It's been a while since the last time I played soccer with other players, and so I am excited at the same time nervous as I am not yet familiar with the other invited players.
I tried to focus, thinking that I'm doing this for the love of the game. I focused on the music to make me feel relaxed and in the mood. I'm ready to sweat!
Suddenly, someone just walks in and smiled at me, obviously, my first reaction was to smile back. Thinking about it, her smile is actually a bit different. Different in a sense that it made me become curious about her. She sat beside me, nodded, and we quietly smiled at each other.
It's was not the awkward type but I honestly like her presence. It's making me feel good. Her smile is the sweetest that I've seen and her deep-set brown eyes are glowing.
Soon after, our friends came and introduced us to each other, I simply said 'Hi' and waved my hands. I shouldn't be nervous. She's just another girl.
I need to control myself or I'll be staring at her the whole time. I thought.
We started playing and dominating the game. I can't help but admire the way she moves across the field, and how well she controls the ball. She's just so graceful! An eye candy!
It kinda inspired me to play my game and see how things can get better if I do some moves. It won't hurt I guess. Anyway, I am Bea De Leon, who can resist me?
Time flies by so fast, hours past and everyone is already sweaty and tired. It was a good game, oh, let me correct that, it was an awesome game!
We all greeted each other after a nice game and I headed to the shower room to freshen up. I tried my best to look for her discreetly, afraid that I might get caught. I know she's still here somewhere, all I need to do is to stay. Maybe a few more minutes, let me just get a glimpse of her before I bid farewell.
To my surprise, I saw her smiling as she walks towards me. Yes, towards me, even if I'm denying it, I can feel that she's looking at me. We glanced and smiled at each other a few times during the game but never thought it could lead to this moment. I really hoped to get the courage to talk to her earlier but it didn't happen. I'm just really not good with this. So I brace myself as she stopped in front of me.
I was already sold to the idea that I won't get to talk to her but here were are.
"Bea? Right?" She finally asked.
How come she knows my name? I was astonished, yet I tried to play it cool. No girl should make me nervous like this.
"Yes, nice to meet you," I responded offering my hand.
She smiled and shook it.
"Ang formal naman. Jho by the way," she replied.
I just smiled.
"Uwi ka na ba?" she suddenly asked.
"Ahhh, yeah," I said.
"Hindi ko kasi alam dito eh, mind if sumama ako palabas?" she asked.
Oh my! Kung sineswerte ka nga naman.
"Oh sure, taga saan ka ba? I can drop you off." I offered.
She kinda giggled and replied, "Naku nakakahiya naman, just drop me off where I can ride a cab."
"Ahh ganun, okay cge." I said.
