Goodbye (an Analogical story) By Theo. Revamped.

One year ago

Deceit always got on virgil's nerves, even while dating, and especially during the breakup.

Even so, virgil had officially moved into the light side of the mind palace exactly one year ago. Away from deceit, and especially away from everyone else.
Sure, at first the only person that tolerated him was Patton, but virgil could never blame anyone for hating him. He was paranoia turned into just mild anxiety. No one had to trust him. However, after one year of living together everyone was okay with virgil, and though he would never admit it, he loved everyone dearly, even roman. Even if roman reminded him of duke, even if logan reminded him of deceit, and even though patton reminded him of It, he still loves all of them like family.

As he woke up that morning, he felt off. More anxious than normal, instead of mentioning it to the other sides he concluded that he was forgetting something and so he ran through what he may have been forgetting, mumbling all the while.
"I unplugged the hairdryer after my shower, I checked in with Logan..." as he went through his list, he got ready for the day.

He left his room, at the end of the long hallway, and walked toward the main room. Passing by logan's room, than Romans, than pattons.
The others seem to be up already, chocolate chip pancakes already set up at the table, Logan would usually never allow this as it wasn't part of a "balanced meal", so Virgil wracked his brain. What was he forgetting? Logan looks up from his book and smiles "salutations virgil." he says. "Hey." virgil responds, sitting next to him. "Good morning!" patton smiles and then, before roman can say his hellos, patton says "so do you all know what day it is today?"
"Saturday?" roman questions. "I don't know Patton, what is today?." Logan responds, humouring the father figure. Logan doesn't forget much. He must know what today is. Patton says "virgils been with us for a year now!! Happy anniversary virgil!!" patton squeals.
"Is this why you asked me to make pancakes, even though the chocolate chips are extremely unhealthy this early in the morning?" Logan says. Roman responds,"they're delicious though."
Virgil smiles, being around his friends makes him smile, makes him have butterflies in his stomach. Patton goes on to talk about how there will be no hiding in rooms or working all day, today will be a family day for everyone.

That day they watched movies, especially Disney movies where Princey gawked at the visuals while Logan talked about the inconsistencies and Virgil thought of all the conspiracy theories. They played smash bros, in which Patton won, and listened to logan read books to get them sleepy, then they all went to bed, virgil being the last one to sleep.
As he was drifting off, he felt the uneasiness he woke up with sink in farther. Normally when he felt particularly uneasy, he would wake up, but as he attempted to sit up, he couldn't move. He couldn't even open his eyes.
"You can't escape that easy, paranoia."
