Chapter 9 - HOLDING ON TIGHT

"How soon can you make it here?"
"Just give about 15 minutes boss"
"Okay come as fast as you..."
"Professor...professor Kim...help...please...now"

"Tiffany breath. Calm down. What's wrong?"
"It's Chanyeol" that's all she had to say to get the man into action.
"What's going on Suho. I heard Chanyeols name"
"I'm not sure Baek. I will call you back as soon as I find out"
"Lead the way" Suho commanded and the young woman ran to the cafeteria with the professor right on her tail.

As soon as he got in he heard two women who sounded like they were crying and followed Tiffany in that direction. His heart broke when he found Amber and Taeyeon crying over an unconscious and bloody Chanyeol laying in a pool of his own blood.
"Please... Please save him sir..." Amber cried. The man immediately dialed a number.
"Baek I need..."
"I'm already here where are you?" Baek cut him off as he parked in front of the university main entrance.

Baekhyun immediately got into actionwhen he saw the situation. He had come with 2 of his men who quickly carried Chanyeol into the car since the damn ambulance still hadn't arrived. Baekhyun sped all the way to the hospital his heart filled with concern for the young man he was trying hard to forget.

"I shouldn't have let you out of my sight"

Mr and Mrs Park got to the hospital shortly after Chanyeol got placed in a room after a quick surgery. He had some broken bones and internal bleeding but nothing too life threatening and they were relieved. But that didn't change the fact that they were broken about what happenedto their only son. They thanked Baekhyun and Suho for their quick response and the two excused themselves from the family.

Baekhyun waited until Kyungsoo arrived and immediately got into the car with Suho.
"What the f*ck happened Suho. I thought you had your eyes on him" Baekhyun lashed out.
"I don't know Baek and I'm as mad as you are right now" Suho responded unhappy he didn't stop this from happening.

"What's your report?" He turned his attention to Kyungsoo.
"I checked the cctv footage and the lunch hour has been deleted. The students are not talking and those who are talking are saying some guys just popped out of nowhere and beat him up. The girls who were with him look like they are too afraid to talk and I have a feeling whoever did this threatened them into silence. There is no sign to show us who did this"
"I have a feeling I know who did this" Suho said as passed his phone to Baekhyun showing him the Facebook post, "I think it's his stupid ex."

"What the f*ck. Then why don't I have his head on a platter. If you can't do it then show me where the asshole is and I will put him out of his misery myself" Baekhyun was livid at this time. Who thinks they have the right to lay a finger on Chanyeol. Even if he wasn't interested in the male the Parks are under his protection now and so mess with them and you mess with him.

"His name is Kris. Kris Wu" Suho said and realization dawned on the other two males, "If we kill him it's a declaration of war with the Chinese mafia Baek"

"I don't f*cken care. He made the first mistake. I will just be returning the favor"
"Baek...i want to kill him as much as you do but we need to be smart about it. I have a plan which wont lead the paper trail back to us. I promise you I will end him in the most painful way possible. You just need to be patient" Suho explained.

"You patience is not my strength"
"I know but you need to trust me on this"
"He is right Baek. We aren't ready for a war with the a Chinese especially since we recently joined arms with them. We need a well thought out plan to deal with this" Kyungsoo added.
"Okay... But if by chance he appears in front of me I will not hesitate to kill him. That I promise you"

"I knew we should have put bodyguards on him. Now see what's happened. My baby almost died" Mrs Park cried on her husbands shoulders.
"You know how adamant he was about going out with bodyguards. It would have also caused suspicion and that's the last thing we needed" Mr Park also felt terrible about what happened. They almost lost their son and this is why they never wanted him to be part of the family business. They wanted him to be safe and free.

"We have to cancel our trip. We need to stay close and keep him safe. He is our only child and we can't risk losing him" Mrs Park said with determination.
"You know we can't do that. This deal is important and..."
"Our son is important as well" the couple silently looked at each other not knowing what to say next.

"Can I make a proposition" Baekhyun broke the silence catching their attention. They had no idea he was back in the hospital room.
"What is that?" Mr Park asked.
"This business deal you are travelling for is important to all of us and personally I can't afford you missing this opportunity and I also understand how important your son is to you. And so I will take care of him while you are away"

"Mr Byun..."
"Call me Baekhyun. We are past formalities in our relationship. Don't worry about it. You know the type of man I am and the resources I have. Let me take care of your son and protect him. I will make sure nothing happens to him even after he is fully recovered. I will watch him like a hawk"

The couple took a few minutes whispering to each other before turning back to Baekhyun.
"Thank you. We accept your proposition" they agreed and soon left the hospital to get ready for their trip.

"They are gone now. You don't have to keep pretending to be asleep" Chanyeol was shocked the older man knew he was faking this whole time. He opened his eyes and looked at the pair that were looking right back at him.
"Don't worry Chanyeol. I will protect you from Kris. He can never touch you if you are with me. I promise you." Baekhyun said before he leaned forward and gently kissed the younger males lips.
"This time I'm holding on tight to you"
That was all Chanyeol needed to hear before he fell into a deep relaxed sleep.
