This was going to be a lengthy process.
The girl was heading in the right direction, although she just couldn't help but long for him throughout the day. She thought that now that she knew what she had to do- move on, that is- maybe she could forget him and act like he never existed the way he did to her. But she was so wrong.
She couldn't fathom why he was so able to discard her the way he did. She thought- no, she knew they had something special. Their love was powerful. But a week or so after the breakup, he tells her that the feelings he felt were now gone. And the more she thought about it, the more hurt she was.
She had closure. But she then knew that she hadn't obtained enough. She was still confused. At one moment, he was head-over-heels for her. Then the next, he leaves her while still having feelings for the girl. A few days later, he wants nothing but to be friends, and when she gets the courage to talk to him, platonically, she texts him, and he doesn't respond. For days. And still hasn't said a word.
She needed answers. She still remembers the day she asked him if he wanted her to leave him alone. His response was no. So why is he behaving this way? Maybe he's just as confused as she is. Maybe his mind was spiraling just like hers. He was "wishy-washy," as the girl would say. She'd given him time to think. To just be. But if he expects her to move on as he did, she felt like he owed her some answers. And he needed to give them to her.
As that was the least he could do.
