The Course
As I headed towards the first jump Infinity weaved a little, but I held him up and sent him on. He easily cleared the first jump a three-foot single, and I sent him to the next jump which was another three-foot single. The next jump was a small three-foot oxer with a panel jump in the front set at two-foot three. It was a hard rollback but seemed easy for Infinity. I counted the strides through the line to make sure I got four. One, two, three, four. As I said four Infinity lifted underneath me and lifted me out of the saddle.
We then headed to the next jump. It was a single fence but was probably going to be the hardest jump on the course. A three-foot square oxer that was set about three feet apart. Just thinking about it made me nervous, but I could tell Infinity knew what he was doing he didn't even second glance it. Three, two, one, and we were over. It felt amazing like we were flying. We were in the air for what felt like minutes before we landed again.
Once we landed, we headed for the third to last jump. Infinity took the rollback into it perfectly. It was a three-foot single which rolls back into the second fence in the outside line. Which Infinity did perfect. The last two fences were an outside line in five strides. I counted down the strides to the first fence and readied my self in a two-point position just as Infinity took off. Five, four, three, two, one, and Infinity cleared the last jump in a perfect five strides. We finished our closing circle and left the arena, Amber come over and told me I did amazing and she couldn't have done any better. I think she was lying about that part.
I cooled down Infinity by walking him back to the barn. Once we got back to the barn I untacked him, and gave him water. After he got done we all loaded our stuff and the horses, then headed back to the barn. Which is also my second home. Before we left Logan and Cassidy told me that the course on Infinity was amazing.
