JM POV
"Hey Hey be careful," I hold Maze's back in place as she tries to lean back to look up at me since I'm standing behind her to swing her. I smile back at her then move in front of her for her to be able to see me better.
I sit on my knees, looking into her big brown orbs. "Mazie." she hums to me so I just smile at her and get up to give her another round of swinging.
Time passes faster than I expected it, I see y/n come from a distance with the bag I gave her earlier, telling me it's time to leave since it's becoming late. The sun has set a couple of hours ago.
"Sorry I got carried away," I apologize.
"No need to. She is your daughter. You have all the right to spend some quality time with her," she reassures me so I nod and carry Maze, hearing her yawn and lay her head on my shoulder.
Both Y/n and I walk a little, aiming to reach our cars which were parked at a fair distance from the park.
"So while we walk. Tell me what I missed," I initiate the conversation.
"Hmm- from where do you exactly want me to start?" Y/n asks while glancing at me.
"We'll have a good 5 minutes walk which means you can start from the very beginning."
She giggles at my words before pausing to think, "Well, you missed me seeing the +ve sign. You also missed the first kick she gave my stomach. You missed when the water broke. You missed her first cry when she was just born. You missed sharing with me the sleepless nights I had because of her constant rising temperature. You missed-" her words start with excitement, but it eventually dies down with every memory she remembers.
"I see I've missed quiet a lot of things," I lower my head, but she doesn't stop.
"You missed hearing her first laugh. You missed seeing her first steps. You missed seeing her being in an eating mess. You missed hearing her first word. You've missed a lot of things and that's all because of me," she suddenly stops walking and starts to cry.
I quickly stop too and go to her. Damn it! She is feeling guilty, and I don't know what to do.
"Listen, it's okay. We can have more memories now. It's not too late," my words seem to not reach her so I hesitantly reach my free hand to pull her head into my chest for her to calm down.
"Believe me, it's okay. You were scared I might've been a bad person. You have all the right to be worried," I soothingly said.
She sniffles a couple of times before pulling away from me, muttering "Sorry for the sudden outburst." She rubs away the few tears remaining on her pinkish cheeks.
"Are you okay now?" I lean down not bothered by the close proximity we are at. She nods and walks ahead, taking out her car keys.
I follow her with Maze still sleeping. When we reach the car, Y/n unlocks it for me to place Maze in the front passenger's seat while y/n tightly puts the seat belt on her.
Before Y/n could go to the driver's seat, I pull her arm, turning her to look at me. "Are you sure you are okay now?" I ask worriedly.
She smiles while caressing my cheek lovingly, "Yeah I'm fine. Thank you, Jimin, for today. Maze will be very proud of having a father like you."
With that y/n drives off and I wave at her, seeing her speed away. I sigh and ride my own car to head to my own home as well which takes only 15 minutes.
"You're late," is the first thing I hear when I enter the house from Yoongi-hyung, who is sitting on the couch with a bowl of fruits in front of him.
"I was with Maze and Y/n," I plop my body beside his while taking a grape, throwing it in my mouth.
"Hmm- that's your new excuse now, huh!" he takes a bit from the apple he is eating. I nod to him, taking another grape and repeating my earlier act of throwing it in my mouth.
I start to take off my shirt and unbuckle my jean's belt throwing it on the chair adjacent to me. "You stink. Go have a shower," Yoongi-hyung scrunches up his nose in disgust, gaining an I-don't-care look from me as I continue to eat.
"How were they!" he asks.
"Y/n cried," is the only thing I happen to say before an awkward silence fills the air between me and Hyung.
"And you did!"
"I hugged her!" I say it in a more of a question to know if that was the right thing to do or I was overreacting, but thankfully I gain a satisfied hum from him.
I press my hand on my chest thanking God in the process, "Maze was adorable as always, and-"
"Why did she cry?" He cuts me off.
"Huh!"
"Why did y/n cry?" he asks again, showing that he needs an answer.
"She was feeling guilty because she was the reason behind me missing many first times of Maze. But, don't worry I reassured her that everything is fine." I end my words by taking one last grape and get up to take my shower. "See tomorrow at work hyung or for breakfast to be exact." He merely waves me away as he continues to watch the TV show he's been engrossed in.
I turn on the shower after stripping. The cold water runs down my skin calming every inch of my body and empties my mind from all the stress before something unexpected happens.
A woof sound echoes in the bathroom, so I quickly open the tub's curtain to see Tannie standing in the middle of the bathroom, wiggling his tail "You got to be kidding me. TAEHYUNG."
