Chapter 15

Alexander's POV:

I jolt awake when I don't feel the sparks of my mate. I look at the clock and sigh. 8:29 am. I get out of bed before I hear the shower stop. I look to see Valerie in a pair of sweats and a yellow hoodie.

"Oh good morning." She says, drying her hair with a towel. I eye her and she walks to me. "What's wrong?"

"What are you doing up so early?" I ask. She straddles my waist and runs her fingers through her damp hair.

"I don't know." She answers. "My heat is today."

I look up at her with sadness and guilt  in my eyes. "I can't see you go through that again... Let me help you." She shakes her head.

"Not yet Alexander." She simply says. I furrow my eyebrows.

"But yet you find the need to tease me every day?" I snap. She looks at me and stands up. "Why? Let me help you so you won't be in pain!" No answer. I stand up and feel my anger rising. "Don't give me that 'I wanna wait' bull either! I should've marked the same DAY I found you!"

"Oh fuck off Alexander!" She yells. "I will not make the same mistake I did with Jaiden and that is final!"

Jaiden? Who the fuck is Jaiden?! My eyes go pitch black and I glare at her.

"Who the fuck is Jaiden?!" I ask. She only growls and runs downstairs. I follow her, not caring I'm only in a pair of sweats. I grab her wrist and pin her against the wall.

"Let go of me you dickhead!" She struggles to get away. I growl in warning and she whimpers as my claws dig into her. "Stop! You're hurting me!"

"Who is Jaiden, Valerie?!" My wolf is slowly taking over and I will gladly let him. "Is he the guy you were in love with?!"

"Alexander please! Let me go it fucking hurts!" She yells. I feel a warm liquid drip from my claws and I growl again.

"Tell me who he is!" I yell in my alpha tone. She immediately looks up at me with shock and sadness in her eyes. I knew I messed up...

Valerie's POV:

"D-Did you just use your Alpha tone on me?" I ask in disbelief. He hesitantly lets go and I grab my bleeding wrist. "How dare you?! You don't know anything! I was starting to think you were different! Different from the stories about how you've slaughtered countless pack! The stories about how cruel and ruthless you are!"

"Valerie I-" I slap him... Hard. He falls and looks at me with black eyes. "What the fuck?"

"You will never EVER use your alpha tone on me again! That's not how mates work!" I yell. My wolf whimpers slightly and I block her. I begin remembering the stories my family told me about him. "Maybe we don't belong together..."

"What are you saying?" He asks, his eyes going back to normal. I breath in and out before glaring at him.

"I, Valerie Lonnie Gonzalez, reject you, Ale-" He tackles me to the ground and puts his forehead against mine.

"Don't do that... Please don't do that." He pleads. I can hear the sadness in his voice and I close my eyes. "I'm sorry... Please Valerie... Don't."

"If I let you in... Will you understand why I don't want to be pushed?" I ask. I open my eyes and he looks at me. He nods and I sigh, closing my eyes once more. "Fine. Go ahead."
