7. A New Start

As I placed the last bag of mine in the boot of the car, I turned and looked at my old house. I'll miss dad so much. But everything was telling me to make a new start. The sea breeze was flowing through through the huge leaves of the palm trees lining the shore. We drove down a few winding roads until we arrived at my new home. I knocked on the door with the round, brass knocker and was greeted by a short girl around 5,2. The girl had long flowy chestnut brown hair. I recognised her from school. Regina Monroe? I think that was her name. She was wearing vivid red heels and a tight fitted pencil skirt-style dress in black. She looked like she had botox in her lips and was pouting at me.

"Aria Jackson?" she asked between chewing her gum.

The sound of chewing always got on my nerves.  Ever since I was little I've had this pure hatred with people chewing with their mouth open. Misophonia? I think that's what it's called.

"Um, yeah that's me." I replied with a timid voice.

"MOM! There's someone at the door." she shouted up the stairs.

"Sorry sweetie, Regina is just going out to meet her friends. You're Aria right? Let's get you settled in. I'm sorry about your father." said the woman.

I walked inside the house and took off my jacket to reveal an outfit I'd never usually wear. My ripped jeans that revealed a little too much more than they needed, my black heel boots and a tight black crop top with the words 'New York City' printed on the front which I bought from the Statue of Liberty museum shop.

As I started looking around the house, I noticed how big all the rooms are. Everything was so neatly and delicately placed and planned out.

"Your room is on the top floor love." Smiled my new foster mom.

Oh yeah. I never got her name. I think it should say in the file Cassy gave me though. I walked up the stairs, which weren't as creaky as my old ones, and glanced at the rooms on each floor.

On the first floor was the dining room, kitchen, bathroom and living area, on the second floor was another extremely fancy bathroom and two bedrooms. The final floor was possibly the most magnificent think I've ever laid my eyes on. There was another amazing bathroom and two bedrooms, one of which would soon be mine. I moved my bags into the doorway and opened the golden handle.

I couldn't believe what I was viewing. My new room looked like a castle. I had beautiful decor. My bed was a double bed sat in the corner with a white nightstand placed next to it. On top of that was a Himalayan salt crystal lamp. In different areas of my room there were plants suspended in the air being held together by small macrame knots. I had wooden floorboards (this time they were just an oak colour) and on the walk there was a beautiful hanging of a Mandala. My room looked like those you'd see on Tumblr. I had a slanted attic roof with two windows in it, and if I was standing on my bed I was able to open the window, stick my head out and see the ocean.

As I was starting to unpack my things, I noticed that one of my drawers had something in it. I rattled it open and out flew $100 and a new iphone. Why have I been given this? I open my door and start running downstairs but I'm blocked by a tall figure, about 6'2 with messy brown hair. Because I'm Aria, I don't see him and walk straight into him and bump my nose, falling backwards.

"Oh my lord not again.." I sighed as I got ready to slam into the floor.

I woke up on a sofa with an ice pack on my head and see a fuzzy figure sat at the end. What just happened? I tried to get up but my head felt like it weighed the weight of the moon. I immediately fell back down.

"Woah there, easy tiger" said the figure.

That voice.. I've heard that voice before. Liam? It can't be. He's not fostered is he?

"Here, drink some of this." he said, offering me a glass of water.

I took it and slowly sat up. I finally took in my surroundings now my vision was clear. Okay, now at least I have some answers.
1. Liam Parker was sat in front of me.
2. Liam Parker is a foster child.
3. I think Ryan Monroe is standing in the kitchen.

There he was again. Liam Parker. His messy brown hair, his sea green eyes. How can a human being be so fucking perfect? I take the ice pack off of my head and go back upstairs to lie down and question my new house with my new life.

as I walk in to the bathroom to wash my face, I see Ryan's reflection in the mirror.

"Hey, don't walk into me either!" he chuckled whilst walking into his room.

He's only acting nice to fake it, just so he can play me too.

The next day at school I drove in with Liam and Ryan, which of course got me thousands of beady eyes staring at me.

Today was one of the only days this week where I didn't have English. Thank God. In the canteen at lunch, I glanced over to see Ryan with a blonde haired, tanned cheerleader sat on his lap hugging him. gross. Normally I feel bad for the girls that get played but with the cheerleaders who basically do the same thing, there's no reason to.

I arrived back home, hung my bag on the hook, and then ran upstairs to my new room to relax. Then my phone ringer went off. I clicked the message box. It was a message from Ryan.

Meet me at 6 in the cafe down the road. Once again, no negotiations.

Thank you for reading this chapter. It took me a while to be motivated enough to write this but in the end I got there. I'm also not feeling that great right now so writing takes my mind off of it.

Goodnight, Good morning, Good day wherever you are in the world.

stay amazing
