As I left the H&M holding Liam's hand, I couldn't help but smile. I knew that's pretty much all I'd be doing today anyway, so what's the point in holding it back?

I turn to look upward at Liam. We walk over to the green railing separating us from the sandy beach. His messy hair was getting blown about in the warm breeze passing by us. I went up onto my toes, in doing so creasing my red, untied converse, and place my lips on his cheek. It's moments like this that make me want to pause time and live in this exact moment forever.

He smiled that heart-melting smile and said "You up for some donuts Ari?"

"When am I not?" I replied, chuckling.

We walked over to the donut stand on the Pier and got two glazed donuts. I could hear the music playing from the speakers along the side of the Pier, and in the distance I could see the rides that were at the end, their lights shining in my eyes. I saw an old white bench and i sat down to eat my donut. From where we were sat I could see the waves rolling in on the sand and my mind flashed back to the drive here from the airport. My dad in the front seat. I guess my emotions show through my face because Liam looked at me with a sad face, but then I realised I was crying.

"You okay?" he asked, wiping the tears off of my cheek.

"Just thinking about dad." I said, tears still running down my cheeks.

He pulled me into a hug that felt like it lasted for an eternity.

"Hey, we can go see him after if you want?" he said.

I nodded my head and got up.

"But for now, I want to see you scream at those rides." I smirked.

"Challenge accepted."

He ran down to where the rides were, pulling my hand with him. We went over to the ticket kiosks and bought a day pass so we could ride anything as much as we wanted. The first ride I pulled Liam onto was the Haunted House. We sat in the double seat and soon we were transported into darkness. Then a ghost flew down from the ceiling making me scream.

A few minutes later, we were off.

"Gee, Aria. You really don't like ghosts?" he said smirking.

"Oh shush. It wasn't just me."

I dragged him over to the Wild Mouse next. The ride clicked as we were turning round every corner and at some parts it looked like we were hovering over the sea.

The next ride we went on was called Twizzler, like the candy. It had two seats attached to each end and was really tall and spun round.

"You sure about this Aria?" Liam asked me.

"What, you scared of heights?" I giggled.

"Nope. Just worried you were"

We sat down and slowly got taken up to the top whilst the next people got on. From how high we were, I could see forever. Then I felt a sudden jolt and we started spinning. The wind was blowing through my hair and by the end of it I looked like I had just been in a hurricane.

We ran over to the beach after this so I could get some pictures for my photography portfolio. The sand was warm and it got in my converse. I took them off and went to stand in the waves. I could see the ruins of the old pier that burnt down a few years ago, and quickly took a picture. Then I felt Liam's arms around my neck. We stood there for a few minutes with the water pouring in onto the beach over our feet.

"Do you want to go home yet?" he asked me.

"Mhm." I said, nodding my head.

❣️

We walked through the door and I put my bag down in the hall. I ran upstairs to my room and Liam followed. We sat on my bed for a few hours listening to songs by Dayglow and Conan Gray. Before I knew it, it was 11pm. I felt Liam get up from my bed.

"No, stay." I said.

"Whatever you say peaches" he replied.

I had my snow leopard onesie on and Liam was hugging me. We fell asleep a while later whilst listening to the waves through my open window.

I woke up from the sun shining through the window and smiled. Then I noticed Liam wasn't there. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and then Liam appeared in my doorframe with a glass of orange juice and a stack of pancakes covered in Maple syrup.

Holy shit. He's the one.

"Morning sleepyhead." he said, laying the pancakes on the nightstand. "Just thought you might want some breakfast. And also for me too"

"Thankyouuuuu" I said, my voice still groggy.

"You give the best cuddles Aria. Not joking, I was scared I'd never wake up. Not that it would be an issue." he smiled.

I gave him another hug before he sat on the bed next to me.

"What adventure are we going on today?" he asked me, mouth full of pancakes.

"Hmm... Maybe Liam and Aria go Ice Skating?" I suggested.

"Sounds fun. I'll make a fool out of you though. I used to play Ice Hockey."

"Really? I didn't know that." I said, now my turn to have my mouth full.

We devoured the pancakes in minutes. I went over to the bathroom to turn on the shower and finally took off my onesie. I looked at the scars that were all over my neck and arms from where my mom used to hurt me. I decided to finally get in the shower and wash my hair. When I got out, I stared at my freckles in the mirror. I'm not going to cover them today. Same for my scars. I thought to myself. I put on a bit of eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss.

My outfit today consisted of my plain white shirt, shorts and my checkered Vans. I went back to my room to tidy my bed and close my windows. That's when I saw Ryan in his room. I shrugged it off and walked downstairs where Liam was waiting with a pair of hockey skates.

"You weren't joking?" I questioned.

"No. What did you think I was doing every Thursday after school?" He replied.

That's a good point. I grabbed my skateboard from the door and we left.

"You skateboard?" Liam asked.

"Yeah. Who do you think owned all the boards in my room?" I said.

We smirked at each other.

I knew that he was the one. When I was with him I felt happy. I felt safe.
