Tell me when the war is over
When families wave their silver flags
To match their artificial feelings
Because being real is a drag
So you dress up like a being
Because whose human
When you are replaced with a machine.
We lock up what's ours
In hopes no one will see anything
Besides a plastic smile
And screwed on freedom.Tell me when the war in over.
When scales stop deciding your worth
To a world full of hurt
Because it doesn't matter
Because when your plastic
Your the cat call princess
And when your real
They scream go kill yourself
Because hate is a strong word
But maybe they hate you
Because you decided to be true
To you.
Maybe you start to think that you
Isn't the right you
For a society of barbies
who ask themselves the same thing.
Because perfect
Is impermanent.Tell me when the war is over.
When battle scars are not for attention
Whether you show them or not.
When the youth don't have to ask
Whose next
In schools where students die
On the battlefield of life.
You'll get a week of sadness
From people you haven't even met
And then your forgotten
Just like the rest.
Where you can be with her
Whether she's the prom queen
Or the loser in the back of the class
And you can be with him
Whether he's a jock
Or a weeb.Tell me when the war is over
Because I've gotten this far
Marching to the beat
Of the drums of war.
