Millie's POV-
I was currently in my science class that I hated. None of my friends were in that class so I had no one to talk to.
The door opens and Finn walks in the room looking annoyed."Why are you late", said Mr. Keery. "I just got lost I don't know what the big deal is, chill". "Excuse me, you don't talk to me like that".
Finn just rolled his eyes at him."That's it", Mr. Keery then took out a yellow slip and wrote something on it and handed it to Finn. Finn looked at the paper and scoffs "Whatever", he mumbles.
Finn then sees me staring and I quickly look away. For the rest of the class Mr. Keery just makes us take notes on the board.
The bell finally rang and it was time for lunch, finally. Everyone was rushing to get out the door and I accidentally bumped into Finn, "Watch it" he said.
"Okay, it was by accident, sorry". He then rolled his eyes at me,"Why does this kid act mad all the time", I was thinking in my head.
When I got to lunch I went to go sit at my table with Sadie and and Lizzy. "Hey guys", I said, and they said hi back. As I was going to sit down I felt a pair of arms wrap around my back.
"Hey Joseph", I said while giggling. He then gave me a kiss on the cheek as I smiled. "Aww" said Lizzy. Joseph then went on his phone, "So, Sadie how's it going with Caleb".
Her face started getting red as she was smiling "Oh he's good". "How about you Lizzy? Do you like anyone". "No", she said as she was trying to hide the smile by looking down at her shoes. "Mhmm, sure".
Then Iris all of sudden came over and said "Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I'm having people over later and I'm only inviting Joseph, so don't even bother to come". She kept giving me a dirty look and it annoyed me.
"Okay, and?"said Sadie. Iris then rolled her eyes and walked away. "So, are you gonna go to that party?" I asked Joseph. "I don't know, maybe?".
"Oh okay". I didn't want to tell him not to go because that will make me sound controlling and I didn't want to be that type of girlfriend.
It was the end of the day finally and I closed my locker and made my way to the doors to leave.
Then Mr. Keery stopped me "Millie, I was wondering since you are one of my best students, I was wondering for only today you can watch over the detention students, and if you do I'll give you an 100% for our next test.
I did want to go home but I also wanted to get an easy 100% for a test "Okay, I'll do it, I said. "Thank you so much, I wasn't able to do it because I have to take care of my kids after school,"he said. "That's fine", I said.
I made my way to the classroom where detention is held, I was feeling nervous for some reason.
Finn's POV-
As I walked into detention, I see Noah and Caleb there sitting next to each and talking."Hey Finnlard" said Caleb, as I high fived both of them.
"What are you doing in detention, dogsoft?" said Noah.
They always call me weird nicknames but I don't mind," I got in trouble for "talking back to the teacher" doing the quotation marks with my fingers.
"That sucks, we got in trouble for being loud in the library". "Yeah, and we wouldn't have if you didn't start blasting music and started dancing, and told me to record you".
"Whatever, dude" said Caleb as I chuckled.
"So where's the teacher running detention, all of a sudden the door opens and there was Millie walking in.
"Oh hell no", I thought in my head, she kept looking at me in science class, I don't know why.
She then said "Mr. Keery told me watch over you guys".
I sighed annoyingly this day can't get any worse. Since I didn't want to get told what to do by her, I stayed quiet the whole hour.
Detention finally ended. I told Caleb and Noah that I'll see them later at Iris's place.
I sighed in relief, the school day was finally over.
Millie's POV-
Detention was so boring to watch, over the whole hour was silent which I was surprised by. I got home and saw my mom with a concerned face, "Millie where were you I was worried".
"Oh sorry mom I had to watch over detention for Mr. Keery and he said he would bring my grade up if I did".
"Oh okay dear, just text or call me next time you stay after hours at school". I nodded, then saw Ava and she ran to give me a hug.
"Hey Millie", "Hey Ava, how was school today"
"It was good", she said then I went upstairs to my room.
I opened up my laptop then noticed that I've gotten a missed Facetime call from Joseph earlier, so then I called him back. "Oh hey mush, sorry I didn't respond I had to do something after school".
"That's fine, just wanted to let you know that I am going to Iris's place, I then nodded slowly, "Okay, that's fine".
"I just wanted to let you know that's all, anyways I'm going to start eating dinner soon, I'll talk to you later", he said.
Before I can say bye he had already ended the call.
I know it shouldn't bother me that he's going but I can trust him to not do anything bad.
I then searched up Netflix on my laptop to watch "You".
Finn's POV-
I quickly ate my dinner to go to Iris's place, my mom was asking why I was rushing.
"Oh nothing, I just wanted to go to Caleb's house after".
"Absolutely not, you had after school detention and that will be your punishment".
"Come on please mom, Caleb and I have to work on a project and it's due in 2 days, I begged my mom.
"Okay, but no video games for a week".
"Okay fine",
Nick then said, "Haha, you can't play video games for a week".
"Shut up, no one even likes watching you play on Twitch".
My dad then said, "Finn, don't be rude to your brother".
"Sorry", I said. When I finished I quickly got ready and went to my car.
When I got there it wasn't packed but there was a good amount of people there. When I got inside, I saw Iris walking up to me, "You came!", she said as she hugged me.
"I'll be right back", she said. I nodded and started walking up to a group huddled up talking about someone.
Before I can hear anything they were saying Iris came back and handed me a drink, "Thanks", I said then drank it not expecting it to be beer.
I guess I'll only have one cup because I am gonna be driving home.
I then started to overhear things they were saying.
