Donghyuck's pov
I think this the only day this year I have woken up with a smile on my face mostly because of my excitement for today. It is finally February 14th Aka Valentine's day Aka Jaehyun's birthday. I already have my gifts for him set up, for both occasions. I start the day off by taking a quick shower then putting on a white turtle neck with a pink button up. I wore my light jeans and my white boots to match. I stare at myself in the mirror thinking if I should wear makeup or not.
"I'll just curl my hair and I'll see if I have time." I told myself.
"I guess I do have time for a little makeup." I say as I race into my room because in reality I only have ten minutes until Jaehyun gets here.
I hear three knocks at the door once I finish up putting on my eyeshadow, I spray some cologne and go to open the door.
"Happy birthday my valentine." I say as I get greeted by him loving smile.
"Thanks sunshine." He comes inside and gives me a hug and spins me around.
"You didn't have to get me anything Jaehyun." I whine when I spotted a bouquet of sunflowers and roses with a teddy bear.
"But I wanted to." He pouts then gives me a kiss on the forehead.
"Wait here okay." I sit him down on my navy blue coach and I ran off to my bedroom.
"Close your eyes." I told him while I set up the gifts in front of him. I open his eyes and he looks at the coffee table then at me.
"Donghyuck I told you not to get me anything expensive." He scolds me while pulling me into his lap.
"Well to be fair I did get you some cheap gifts."
"The only inexpensive thing I see are the chocolates."
"It's fine here let me put them on you." I grab the watch and the set of earrings and help him put them on.
"They look nice on you. I don't understand how you have earring holes but no earrings, wouldn't they close up?"
"I had them for a long time, I don't think they'll ever close up." I get up and head to the kitchen.
"Did you bring the blanket sir?"
"Of course, where are you having the picnic?"
"It's a surprise silly."
"I'm leaving the other grifts here if you don't mind, I don't want them to get stolen."
"That's fine c'mon let's go."

Time Skip
The two arrive at a park with a colorful flower meadow close by.
"Look that's the perfect spot under that tree! It's right next to the flowers." Donghyuck takes Jaehyun's hand and quickly heads there before anyone else can. Donghyuck sets up the picnic and they began eating. After they finish they laid on the grass and admired the surprisingly clear skies trying to find at least one cloud. Donghyuck closes his eyes taking in all his happiness when he hears a camera go off.
"What did you take a picture of?"
"Something really pretty." He says as he shows him the picture that he took of the younger.
"You're so cheesy, I thought you took it of the flowers." Jaehyun smiles.
"Want to take a walk?" Jaehyun gets up and holds out his hand. Donghyuck takes it and they began walking on the trail. Donghyuck sneakily looks at his watch and sees it's already five in the afternoon.
"We should head back before the next surprise starts."
The couple return to their spot and see that people are already handing out the lanterns. Donghyuck runs over and manages to get the last one.
"How did you find out about this?" Jaehyun asks.
"I have my secrets now c'mon what do you want to write on the lantern birthday boy." Jaehyun grabs the marker and writes a message making sure Donghyuck doesn't see. They light it up and send it off together.
"What did you write?" Donghyuck finally asks on their way home.
"That's a secret," He winks.
"Oh here I have one more thing." Jaehyun makes Donghyuck close his eyes and places a Sunflower necklace on his neck.
"I love you"
