---A Couple hours later---
{Shanes Pov}

We walked in after I parked the car. We laughed and playfully punched eachothers shoulders as we made old jokes. It felt nice to have my best friend back for senior year. He's my boyfriend. But I don't know if he wants to be open yet. I guess I won't tell anyone about us until he mentions it. We walked into the school and wrapped himself around my arms. He's freaking adorable.

And then I saw them.

All my old friends that had a anode me as soon as I came out, because they were worried about themselves.

Stacy. Meghan. Cat. Lisa. Devon. Luke. Ingrid. Dan. Ian. Anthony.

They looked our way and immediately ran to Joey and I. Mostly Joey. No one knew why he actually went away. Everyone thought he was a missionary.

Meghan: Joey!!!!

Luke: We missed you so much buddy!

Everyone rambled on and on, not giving him a chance to speak. They would occasionally would look over to me, and give me an awkward look. Joey had always been closest to me, even when we were in our group.

Joey: Well guys, I have to tell you something. I'm gay. And I'm in love with Shane.

Joey sure was a brave soul.

Shane: I love you too.

Everyone stared at us, speechless. I was planning on verbal abuse, but that didn't happen.

Cat: That's great Joey. We accept you.

I looked back at them confused.

Meghan: Look, Shane. When you came out, we were young. We didn't know how to react to that. That's why we blocked you out. I hope you can forgive us. I really want this last year of highschool to be the best for all of us, especially you.

I looked down at my feet. I wanted friends again. I wanted to feel comfortable in my own skin.

Shane: I would love to be your guys friend again.

Then we all pulled together to have one big group hug.

So this is what it feels like to have friends. It's been a while.

We talked and caught up for a little while, until the 8:30 bell rang, which made us separate.

Joey: I don't wanna wait until homeroom to see you!

Shane: It'll be fine. You just have to make it through your first four periods.

Joey: That's not even fair!

I laughed and pulled Joey into a hug. My little height advantage let me give him a kiss on the forehead.

Shane: You'll be okay.

I walked Joey to his first class, which was history with Ms. Maia.

Shane: Have fun!

Joey: I don't know if I have any friends in this class.

Shane: It's okay. I'm sure you'll find a nice girl or something. Just no flirting, okay?

I joked to him. He playfully hit my shoulder.

Joey: As if!

I gave him a small kiss on the cheek, and ran to my class.
