A story from a guinea pig's point of view.
—
My name is Vanilla and I live alongside my brother, Black Bean. We are two guinea pigs. Recently, we had just been adopted by this girl, who claimed that she is gonna take good care of us. We were skeptical at first, but she seems to be trying her best.
She was not our original mama. We were really sad that our past mama did not want to take care of us anymore. Especially, Black Bean, he is the most affected, so he was very wary of the new mama. But really, there was nothing to worry about. She gave us food, and that is all that matters!
We were given this grass-type food called hay. We were not familiar with it at first, but our new mama said that it is essential for us to eat hay every day in order to grow healthily. No complain though, hay is delicious, plus I can chew on it when I am bored.
There were lots of new things introduced to us, like vegetables that we eat every day and a new, large cage where we can run around carefree. Although the new mama sighed quietly when she saw us making a mess, then she was the one who took us in hehehe.
We live comfortably with her now and it has been one month since. Actually, to be honest, I can feel my body getting heavier, and I seemed to poop more frequently too. Alas, no worries! The owner will clean our cage for us HEHEHE!
HOWEVER, THERE ARE ALSO NEW BAD THINGS!
How dare her! She tried to make me into taking a shower. And this is so unfair because Black Bean is free from that torture. She said compared to Black Bean who has dark fur, I get dirty easily because of my white fur. What is the meaning of this discrimination? Just because I am white I have to be cleaned more frequently? I showed my act of rebellion by jumping away from the water, but she was even more persistent; and in the end, I lost the 'Battle of the Water'. I sulked for a while, but she gave me more treats to eat. Straight away, I forgot what I was so mad about... Hey, what was I so mad about again?
Hmm...Let me think, what was I talking about? I cannot remember. As I was writing this, Black Bean was sniffing my butt. HEY, SPEAKING OF BUTTS, new mama also trimmed my fur at the back there, because she said the poop will get stuck if my fur is too long back there. But I did not see her trimming Black Bean's fur? SO unfair!
Not only that. Recently, she, along with her boyfriend, clipped our nail. It was because our nail grown too long, she said. If it is too long, we will be having difficulty walking and it will hurt, she said. Oh well, as long as Black Bean is experiencing it too, then I am fine with it. YAY for this rise of equality! No more discrimination just because I am white!
Oh yeah, also about her boyfriend. Err... I don't really know what to think about him. I have mixed feelings about him. He gave us treats often when he came to visit, but he also introduced to mama this exercise of picking us up.
I mean, why?!
Why would he bother us like this? Now we are constantly cuddled by her. I guess that is okay since she gave us food as she did so. But last time, I punished the boyfriend for introducing the new ritual. How, you ask? HEHEHEHE I peed and pooped on him! Now, I am 100% satisfied, serves him right!
Our life is not so bad now, and I like ordering our mama around. As soon as she woke up, we wheek-ed our lungs out so she will give us some fresh, new hay and pellets. However, we did thank her by singing her the lullaby of our people when she was about to go to sleep. Although, it did not seem to help her sleep, rather, I think she enjoyed our lullaby very much that she stayed awake to listen to it.
(OWNER'S NOTE: Hi, rather than a lullaby, actually they sang me a rock song...)
ANYWAY, I guess that is it. Our new life is so peaceful, and as I said, ordering my mama around is so fun. You know, I am now the boss of her, as well as my brother. But he is more like the assistant boss. She submits to us so much that she even picked up our poops and throws it into this plastic thing where she collects our poops. She is our ultimate slave, and we shall NOT let her go.
To conclude, it is so lucky to be a guinea pig. With our cuteness and charms, we will rule over more slaves AHAHAHA! Now, give us more hay human!
