Adelaide's pov
Its been months since Simon And I first met and we were in a friend group of amazing people. Zoey an amazing artist, Gabe the jock and Anna, the mom of the group. We're a small group but that meant less arguing over where we're gonna go for lunch. But the school hasn't been the best so far. Ever since I got here, Frances and his friend wouldn't leave me alone. They would pester me every single day about being the new girl and that I was never going to fit in and ever since they started, it only got worse. Every day I would come home from school with several bruises all over my body which would ache for hours because of the girls he always hangs out with.
When the school bell rang, I felt a tall figure standing behind me. As I turned my head to see who it was... Simon. I quickly smile up at him and asked,
"What are you doing here?" He slowly put his arm around my shoulders and replied,
"Well... I was wondering if I could give you a ride home?" he said nervously using his other hand to scratch his neck.
"Are you sure? You really don't have too." I replied not wanting a burden to him.
"Of course I'm sure! C'mon, let's head to the car!" He said like a child in a candy store. He quickly grabbed my hand and dragged me through the crowded hallways. When we got to the parking lot we headed to one of the bigger cars. As he clicked one of the buttons on his car keys, I saw a flash in the corner of my eye. My jaw drops as I see Simon climb into his huge car. It was a 3.9.1 G-Class Professional, at least $125,000.000. When I entered his luxurious car, he started to laugh.
"What?" I asked.
" Oh, nothing. You just looked kinda... shocked." he said cocking his head, his lips breaking into a smile. When we got to my place, I gave him a thank-you peck on the cheek and waved him goodbye as he drove off.
When I entered my home, my mom and dad were dressed nicely while prepping food in the kitchen.
"Who's coming over?" I asked. We never really dressed up when people came over for dinner. It must be important. I thought.
"Remember Francy?" my mother asked, of course I remembered francy. he was my best friend before I moved and I was dying to see him again.
"Mhmm!" I answered my mother excitedly.
"Wait, is he coming over?!?!"
"Yup!" my mother replied. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was finally going to meet my best friend for the first time in 12 years. As soon as I heard what she had said, I rushed up the stairs to my room and got started to get ready. As I looked at my wardrobe full of clothes, I picked out a cute pink off the shoulder dress with ruffles that ended above my knees and to match, I decided to wear my pink converse shoes to keep it casual. When I started heading downstairs, I realized that our guests had already arrived. I picked up my pace going down the stairs not wanting to wait another second before I got to finally see him again.
"Fran-" I started but soon stopped before I met his eyes. No, it can't be him. I thought as fear flowed through my body.
"cy..." I continued looking up at him just to make sure that I wasn't dreaming. I pinched myself wanting to wake up from this nightmare but I couldn't.
Because it wasn't a dream...
