Adelaides' pov
the weekend past by in a blast but I spent most of the time either out with Simon or sitting in my room thinking of Francy. I couldn't even call him that anymore. he changed so much, he definitely glowed up but his attitude... glowed down. He was so sweet and he would blush whenever we were around each other. he was my best friend but now, everything changed. Today was Monday and I had to face going to school. As I turned to my drawer to choose what i was going to school today, I felt my phone vibrate in my hand.
Simon: Hey, I'll be @ ur place in 10.
me: y?
Simon: to pick u up silly.
He's picking me up. That means that the whole schools gonna figure out that we're dating. I quickly took out an over-sized grey hoodie with blue ripped jeans and airforces. I made my way downstairs and grabbed a piece of toast and heard someone honk their car.
"I wonder who that is." my mom asked herself.
" Simon came to pick me up today!" I replied happily. I soon walked out the door, his window was rolled and saw him look down at his lap. He was stunning. his damp hair was swept over with a strand falling down his forehead and of course he was wearing his varsity jacket with a plain black shirt. I hadn't realized that I dropped something that was in my hand and he turned his head towards me. I picked up the binder that I dropped and shyly made my way over to his car.
" Hey babe!" he said smiling from ear to ear giving me a quick pack on the cheek.
"Babe?" I asked. I didn't mind him calling me that but everything was moving a little bit too quickly.
"I mean, we're together now so I just thought that we could have nicknames for each other, you know?" he replied giving me a small smile while starting the engine.
"No no, that's totally fine. It's just that things are moving a little too quickly. I really like you, that's for sure but I don't want the time we have together to go by so quickly," I told him reassuringly. That wasn't a lie. I honestly didn't want things to go by really quickly and I wanted to savor every moment we can spend together. kind of like cake. when you first get it you eat it so fast that you don't realize it's gone in five minutes. but when you do, you crave for more. Ten minutes into the car ride, Simon began to speak.
"Have you talked to Frances?" I froze. why would he ask me that when he knew how I felt about him. so I ignored him and decided to change the subject.
"The weather seems nice today," I said turning my head towards the window. I couldn't make eye contact with him.
"Addie..." he said softly.
"Don't call me that..." I whispered.
"Adelaide?" he continued. I needed to get out of this car. Now.
"Stop the car," I said softly.
"What?" he said shocked.
"Stop. The. Car." I replied with a tone that I couldn't really understand.
"No, Addie. I can't stop the car were in the middle of an empty street. lemme drive you home." he said slightly panicking. now I was pissed. why couldn't he just listen to me? And why did he keep calling me Addie? I unbuckled my seatbelt and unlocked my door.
"DONT CALL ME THAT!" and that was the last thing I said before slamming his car door shut and sprinting to my house.
"ADELAIDE! COME BACK!" I heard him yell but I ignored him. Why was he making me so angry?
When I got to my empty house, I ran up to my room like never before so I grabbed my phone and called the first person that I could think of.
"Hello?"
