i'm just getting my books 

i shoved my phone into my coat pocket as i neared my locker 

i hummed happily, and happy that for once in my life, 

someone had my back. 

i was not alone

i realised this when a hand slammed my locker

and a kick to my stomach pushed me to the ground.

fear began to grow in me as i glanced up anxiously

to meet suyeon's venomous gaze.

"so..you don't have anyone to protect you this time, huh.." 

"stupid bitch," suyeon spat, "i was having a great day

until i saw your pathetic face." 

she leaned down to get to my level before hissing, 

"you never learn do you?" 

i closed my eyes tightly, panic beginning to settle over me 

as people began to crowd around the scene.

why must you always do this? 

i've never done anything to hurt you. 

i wish i could stand up to you

a sudden feeling of courage 

allowed me to open my eyes.

"you can do it."

shock filled me as my eyes found 

the silver hair boy i was always thinking about, 

taehyung. 

a feeling of warmth and familiarity began to seep into my bones,

before his face disappeared in the crowd. 

reality jumped back at me 

as i realised i was still stuck in this situation.

"are you fucking ignoring me?!" suyeon screeched angrily. 

all i need is to say what i need to say 

i can't do it. i'm hopeless.

"HARU! ARE YOU OKAY?!" seunghee ran through the hallway, 

stopping at where i sat on the floor and helped me up. 

" YOU BITCH HOW DARE Y-" seunghee began yelling at suyeon,

and to my shock suyeon's face filled with fear. 

i began to panic as my eyes searched for taehyung, 

and failing despite the disappearing crowd. 

i need to find him.

"you're sick. you need help," joshua's angry voice 

sounded from beside me. 

my eyes softened seeing seunghee and joshua 

go to all lengths to defend me from suyeon.

"seunghee, joshua, leave it, she's not worth your time," 

i muttered, unable to meet their eyes or express my gratitude.

they exchanged a look before agreeing

and began to walk out of the school silently.

"you're not hurt?" joshua inquired as seunghee squeezed my hand in comfort.

"i'm fine now," i replied, "thankyou both."
