Spencer's hand fumbled over every pocket attached to him, attempting to place where the buzz of his phone was coming from. After a few more seconds of patting, he gained the phone from his vest jacket. He couldn't flip it open faster than he did in that moment, once he noticed the word VERONICA running across his screen.

"Hey!" He quickly replied, a goofy beam planted upon his face. "What're you doing? You don't usually call during the day - is everything alright?" He rapidly questioned, ignoring his buzzing coworkers who began tuning in to the conversation.

She let out a sweet laugh before continuing "Nothing, nothing – I'm fine, I promise. I just missed hearing your voice. It's been almost three weeks and...I just feel kind of lonely, so I thought I'd give you a call. Which is stupid, now that I think of it. You're probably so busy and I'm taking up your ti-"

"Veronica, you are worth my time – any time," He smirked, hearing her breath easily flow at the statement. "I miss you too. A lot; but I'll be back this weekend and we –"

"-Will make sweet, sweet love!" Morgan rang out, causing Reid to jump as he let the phone escape from his ear for a second, allowing Morgan to grasp it firmly and place it against his ear.

"Hey, hey Curly-Q!" Derek bolstered, parading around the office while avoiding Spencer's attempts to retrieve his phone back.

"Derek! What are you up to, stud?" Veronica squealed on the other end, their banter beginning. Spencer continued to follow Morgan around, but Morgan continually dodged him while he spoke.

"Just the usual – pestering your little love bird," He chuckled as Reid rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest in frustration.

"Good! Keep him on his toes while I'm not there," She grinned from ear to ear as Morgan gave a playful wink towards Reid.

"Yes ma'am," He grinned and handed the phone back to Reid, strutting off.

Reid took a deep breath before pressing the phone against his ear once more. "You two have fun?" He grimaced – in slight irritation.

Veronica heartily laughed before letting silence settle for a second.

"I miss you, baby," She caringly whispered.

"I miss you too..." He trailed off for a moment, listening to the soft escalation of her breath as a gentle smile grew upon his face. Just as he was settling into serenity, he noticed Hotch standing in the doorway of the meeting room, giving a wave to signal Reid's presence was needed. Reid gave a nod and immediately sighed. "I've got to go – business as usual," He chuckled, hearing a dejected exhale from Veronica, but then a murmured laugh.

"Go save the world, baby. I love you," She genuinely phrased.

"I love you too. Please be safe," He spoke in sudden concern and anxiousness.

"Always am," She quickly remarked, a bit of sarcasm in her tone.

"And Veronica?" He added as he trotted up the stairs towards the meeting room – freezing right before reaching the doorway.

"Yeah?" She bit her lower lip, anticipation welling inside her.

"Always call me – I mean, whenever you want, that is. I'll always answer," He reassured, hearing her give a quick snort.

"Alright, alright. Bye, baby"

"I'll talk to you tonight," He promised, agonizingly hanging up the phone and stuffing it in his pocket as he waltzed into the meeting room, that silly uncharacteristic grin planted on his face.
