After a long day of school I'm finally home. Right as I'm about to start my thinking of what happened with Mr.Wilde's creepy smile my phone goes off. "Ugh can I just have time to think about what I got myself into!" I scramble to my bag to answer my phone before it goes to voicemail. I find it in my book bag and see it's Rush so I answer the phone. "Hi rush look right now isn't a good time I-" "listen Valerie just come outside I'm already here... Please." I can hear the desperation in his voice so I say okay give me five minutes. I put on a pair of vans and let my mom know I'm going out with Rush. She doesn't mind since she knows Rush. I head outside and I see his jeep so I hop in the passenger seat.
"So Rush.. What's up?" He looks nervous as he try's and forms a sentence. " um well you see can we go for a drive?" I nod my head yes and role my window down and stare up at the moon. I noticed we're not on the streets anymore and we're going down a familiar path way into the nearby forest.
"Rush why are we going to the forest?" "Because I just need to talk to you about something.." Rush stops the car and looks at me with a glimmer of hurt his eyes. " Valerie do you like me more then a friend now? I love you so much and I know I tell you this about every other month but I'm just taken away with you. I love your crazy curly hair, I love your warm hugs, I love your small lips, I love your laugh when people make you laugh, I love the way you get all happy when you accomplish things.. I just love you give me one chance please"
I sit their thinking if I should because I will admit I have a small crush on Rush but I just really don't want to ruin our friendship. Plus theirs something nagging at the back of my mind saying that somebody better is going to come soon.
"I'm sorry rush I love you but not like that.. Oh please don't look at me like that! I can't help my feelings, I care for you and love you just not in that way I'm sorry" as I look into his eyes I can see the tears on his eyelids. "It was worth a shot again, wasn't it val?" We just giggle and hug it out and then he takes me back home and I finish up my homework get ready for bed while I lay in bed my mind wonders off to Mr.Wild and what will happened tomorrow after school.
