Jace hadn't realised what had happened until he found himself walking home from Simon's at 6 in the morning. He scrubbed his hands over his face in frustration and breathed in the cold morning air

"What, so this meant nothing to you? I'm just one of your stupid playthings." Simon said angrily

"No, you know that's not what I- "

"I mean it, Jace" Simon's eyes were dark with anger. If they weren't fighting, Jace would've found that sexy

"For Christ sake, Simon. I came here because I was sad and lonely. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry."

"So what you're saying is that you used me." Jace grunted frustratedly

Tears were starting to fall down his face in a steady rhythm. He didn't care if people saw, not anymore. Not without Simon

"No! That's not what I'm saying Simon and you know it! Stop trying to pick a fucking fight!" Jace raised his voice slightly, gesturing expressively with his hands

"Oh so I'm picking a fight, now?" Simon scoffed. Jace threw his arms in the air exasperatedly. "And those visions? I know you saw them don't lie to me!"

"Yes, I saw the visions. Hallucinations, a side affect of vampire venom." Simon's face twisted into hurt

"YOU ASKED ME TO BITE YOU!" Simon screamed

The problem was, Jace couldn't remember this. He didn't know if he asked Simon to bite him or not. He kicked an empty can out of his way angrily

"Simon-"

"You should go." Simon's lips trembled

"Simon, please." Jace begged, a single tear streaming down his face

"Go." Simon said coldly, his teeth gritted and jaw firmly set

"And he finally rolls in." Alec's voice cut through his thoughts, "Oh my god, Jace. Are you okay?"

"I don't-" Jace swallowed "I don't know." Alec sucked in a breath. Jace had never been this vulnerable in front of anyone other than Alec

"Jace, what happened?" Alec asked cautiously

"I- it... I'm not sure." Jace couldn't hold it in any longer. His vision blurred and he felt his body tremble. His knees gave out from underneath him. Before he could hit the floor, Alec caught him, wrapping his arms protectively around Jace. His body trembled and his breaths became ragged and uneven. He struggled to breathe. Alec pulled his head firmly to his shoulder, cradling it and softly stroking the fine hairs at the bottom. He wrapped his own arms around Alec and held on to him like he was the only important thing that existed in this cruel world. Alec whispered sweet nothings into his ear until his breathing evened out and the wet patch on Alec's woolly jumper stopped growing.

[A/N] I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I know Jace doesn't show vulnerability that often, so that's why I ended the chapter this way. Next chapter should be out in a few days. I probably won't have a regular publishing system it'll just be when inspiration strikes 😂. Anyway, Happy reading ;)
