With Bam only giving us two months to plan a wedding it felt like everything was a huge rush and trying to find things last minute was proving to be a tricky task. The dress was the most important part of the whole wedding - well it was in my opionion - and trying to find a dress, get it altered and have the final fittings seemed too much to do in a short space of time. Today I decided to go dress shopping with all my bridal party to get there dresses and my dress of course.
"So do you have anything in mind of what you want?"
Mum questioned me as we pulled up to the shopping mall, luckily this place had a few bridal stores and boutiques that we could visit if I couldn't find anything that fit my vision.
"I have some idea of what I want for myself and you guys of course."
I replied eyeing up the dresses outside the shop window. When you go from a child to adult, your idea of your wedding dress definitely changes. Seeing as I was marrying Bam, there was no way I was going for a simple dress. The owner of the shop greeted us with Champagne and a welcoming smile, we had hired the shop for our appointment so there would be no interruptions.
"So who is the maid of honour?"
The woman questioned eyeing us up and down, Rhi raised her hand and smiled at the middle aged woman. She beckoned Rhi to stand so she could get a full look at her.
"What kind of dress did you have in mind?"
Debbie questioned me, she needed some ideas of what to put together for Rhi.
"Well I wanted my maid of honour and bridesmaids to be dressed differently. The colour-scheme of the wedding is black, white and purple so ideally I would love Rhi in a cool-toned purple dress almost like a purpley-grey colour."
Debbie wrote my ideas down in her notebook and tapped her pen to her head.
"I have the perfect dress for you."
She lead Rhi away to try on hopefully the dress I had visioned for her.
Moments later Rhi walked onto the podium that was set up in front of where we were sitting. She looked a dream in the dress that had been picked out for her. The dress was a floor-length dress that body-con but not too tight, just flattering on the body. The straps to the dress were mesh and hung slightly off the shoulder, the chest of the dress was in a strapless form, classy enough for a wedding but still showed off a little bit of her assets.
"It's perfect."
I stood up from my spot and walked around her to look at the details in the dress.
"I'll take it."
"Perfect. Now for the bridesmaids, what would you like to see them in?"
"I would like the bridesmaids in a similar style dress actually, just a bit more flowy and maybe in more of a maroon-purple."
Debbie did not fail to deliver on the brief, the dresses were absolutely stunning and were just what I had imagined for the girls.
Now it was my turn to try on some dresses, I was rather excited and nervous at the same time. There's not many occasions that you get to try on a wedding dress.
"So Hollie, which dress would you like to try first?"
I picked out 4 in total, all different from one another to give a bit of variety. Each had something unique which made them stand out from each other. My first dress was a strapless lace dress with a medium train, it had a purple bow around the mid section of the dress to match the colour of Rhi's dress.
