Nico POV

After we attacked the Ares and Aphrodite kids, we retreated back to Percy's cabin.

"That was so fun," laughed Alyssa, Percy's newly discovered sister. She was fun loving, and very very weird. I wanted to get back at her for replacing my clothes with cream pies last week. The next day I found my shirts in the creek. The naiads were protesting at me for emptying my clothing in their territory. Like it was my fault. Did she not have any decency? I walloped her after dinner for that prank. Half the camp had seen my shirts bobbing up the creek. Curse her.

I figured if I asked her truth or dare, she'd pick dare. After all, she was open to new challenges, right? See if she was open to this one.

"Alyssa. Truth or Dare?"

"Dare," she said, chewing on a potato.

"Fine. The dare is to climb up the lava wall with a blindfold," I told her.

"That's too dangerous for a new camper," said Percy, his protective brother side showing.

"I'll be fine, my dude," she slapped Percy on the back. Percy was looking a bit green.

"So, are you up to the dare?" I asked.

"Duh," she crossed her arms.

This woman was annoying.

Five minutes later, Alyssa was on the go, blindfold wrapped tightly around her eyes. She ran straight to the lava wall.
"Jason, do your BAM LIGHTNING MAN thing," she instructed the blond son of Zeus before scaling up the wall. We all watched her climb up, one foot after another, grabbing for handholds. She slapped her palm onto a jutted out bit of stone, and she nearly missed it. For a moment, she was hanging on the lava wall with only one hand. The wall was shifting. I saw her curse under her breath as she grabbed back onto the handhold and scrambled up the rest of the wall, just in time for the boulders to start falling.

"Jason? Now!" She leaped backward, and missed Jason by an inch, who grabbed her by the leg and dropped her as soon as they reached the ground.
"That was fun," said the maniacal girl. "Anyone wanna race me to the top?" Jason stiffened. "Hold on, Al, I can't catch two people if they fall at the same time."

"I'll just fall into the lava, then," she said. "What's so bad about that? I'll keep the blindfold on, though." She spread her palms. "And my opponent has to be Nico."

"Don't mess with me," I snapped. "This is stupid." Will nudged me, making me flush red. "Come on, Sunshine, it's just a game," he said, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Fine," I glared.

"Three, two, one, go!" Travis cheered.
The two of us climbed frantically to the top, me not wanting to lose face in front of Will, and Alyssa being her own competitive self.

We climbed to the top as soon as the wall started clashing. The boulders rained down on us, and one was aimed right for me. "Just great." I shadow travelled back onto the ground. Alyssa falling headfirst into the lava which had pooled below. "gah!!" She waded out, her arms bright red and hair singed soot black. The hem of her shirt was on fire. Nevertheless, she thumped me on the back and said, "figured you wouldn't wanna lose face in front of Solace over there. Rematch on Thursday."

If she wasn't scared, then my revenge wasn't served. To the cooking challenge, in which Leo was going to be Gordon Ramsay, aka the judge.

Hazel took pity on the girl and told her the instructions for the cooking. Her task was easy. She just had to cook the potatoes.

Hazel gave her a brief run through of the cooking. "Remember, don't add too much salt. And be careful, don't burn the potatoes!" Alyssa replied, "Aye aye, Gordon!" Everyone left the kitchen to wait for Alyssa's final result.

We went down to the creek to talk and stuff. Will and I were talking. He seemed like a good person, not those other annoying people who judged me for, well, me. I remarked on his healing skills, and he laughed, leaning backward a little. His laughter sounded like a bell. It was soothing. The moment was peaceful, until we heard a loud shriek, a thump, and a loud splash of water. Everyone figured Alyssa, the klutz, had burnt the food, dropped the fire extinguisher, and had put the fire out with water from somewhere. We all ran up the slope, and into the kitchen which Chiron had had built.

We saw Alyssa sitting on a wooden stool, laughing at something. The pan was sitting on the stove, looking totally fine. Leo looked confused. "What's going on?"

"Oh, hey, guys!" She looked up, and gave a big grin. "Sorry for startling you! I didn't mean it. Anyway, I was just watching screaming baby goat videos on the net."

"What about the potatoes?" Asked Frank and Hazel. Alyssa widened her eyes.

We all peered into the pan. The potatoes were sitting there, perfectly uncooked. "What about them? Oops...." She gave a guilty grin. "On the good side... And old friend sent me an email. It's pretty important, look." She swiped through her phone.

"Aha!" She showed us the phone, startling everyone but me when it bleated violently. "Nice prank, Phoenix." Travis remarked. "Thank you. Who wants to eat potatoes?"

Frankly, not a single person raised their hand. "Okay.." she continued, swiping down her phone screen. "Now who wants to watch screaming baby goat videos all day long?" "ME!!!" everyone chorused, except me of course.

And that's how we ended up watching videos of screaming goats instead of doing dares and truths that afternoon.
