Amber Alert

We meet again.

                            
                        Class had finally ended, the whole time Alex was asking for notes that nor him or Alice had. Once the teacher dismissed them, Alice packed up her things and so did Alex. As they walked out the door they ignored the mutters of the people staring. Yet, Alex looked at them curiously as he followed the girl.
"Alice, can you tell me why they are staring at us?" He questioned her, his,curiosity getting the better of him. Alice sighed as she continued to look onward.
"They aren't looking at us," she sighed, "they're looking at me". She said as she looked to him. She examined the boys confused face and shook her head. "I got into a fight last week, first day," she mumbled waiting for him to scream and storm off not wanting to be her friend anymore. But he didn't, instead he nodded accepting her answer.
"Why did you get into a fight?" He asked her, walking besides Alice. She chuckled shaking her head.
"I don't even remember why," she laughed, looking down, "I was angry, and I reacted because of it". She trailed off before she looked up. She smiled and moved towards the classroom door. "You coming?" She said smiling, Alex smiled back at her sadly as he followed her suite.
      The classroom was was nicely organized, the desks were lined up in rows. The walls were a light tan color with few posters up. Alice looked around as everyone's eyes were on her and Alex. She walked up to who she thought was the teacher since she was the only adult in the room. She had her brunette hair pulled into a messy bun, she also wore a green sweater and a black skirt. She looked surprisingly professional for a middle school teaching job. Resting on her nose was a pair of black glasses.
        "Excuse me," Alice mumbled, and once she did the women turned around and smiled at the two.
"Hello, I am Mrs.Virgo and you are..?" She said still smiling. Alice looked to her feet so Alex answered for her.
      "I'm Alexander Theo, and this is Alice," he said still with a smile. Mrs. Virgo nodded them slowly and eyed Alice making her uncomfortable.
" You were that girl in that fight last week if I'm not mistaken, yes?" Alice flinched but nodded hesitantly. "Okay then take these papers you are gonna need to complete them for homework, I'll give you a week," she said handing them both large stacks of papers. Staring at the work, they took it sadly and went to their seats the teacher had pointed out for them. Alex sat in the back while Alice had to sit in the front. She sat down quickly and shoved her things into the desk. Then she crossed her arms on the top waiting for the class to start.

     The second class of the day had gone by quickly, and so did the next. Both Alex and Alice already were waiting impatiently for the end of the day. Alice looked down at her schedule and sighed.
      "I got Gym, what about you?" She mumbled as the boy shook his head.
       "Nope, I got Spanish," he sighed, walking alongside her. She shook her head and waved him off as she walked to Gym. Once she reached the changing room, she realized something. She didn't have a Gym uniform and had no idea whom her teacher was. She walked into the girls changing room and looked down, not wanting to see ANYTHING. Since she didn't have a uniform. She did the only thing she could, she got a spare from the teachers. After changing, she looked down at her outfit. She wore a red t-shirt and black shorts and her army blue tennis shoes. She sighed and walked out of the changing room and tied her hair up and looked up across the gym full of students staring at her. Tapping her foot, she looked to her feet as the multiple eyes pierced through her.
"You must be..."a voice said, "Alice Grint?" Alice looked up quickly to see a tall women with long auburn hair pulled into a ponytail. She had dark brown eyes and wore a white tank top with pink stripes and black sweatpants. Alice also noticed she was carrying a green notebook.
        "U-Uh," Alice stuttered,"yea". She said as she looked down again as the teacher nodded.
        "Ah, okay then, I'm you're teacher," she said,"Mrs. Luchi". Alice nodded slightly, still feeling the eyes of others glaring daggers into her.
     "Alright then, sit down we got dodge ball today".
         Alice wore a red jersey like the other students on the left side of the gym. And then on the right of the gym, the other students wore blue jerseys. Although, Alice squinted at a familiar face on the opposite side of the gym. But then suddenly Mrs Luchi blew the whistle and multiple others lunged for dodge balls. Although Alice stayed back, afraid of being trampled. And she then noticed another familiar person who thought to do the same.
      "Kim!" Alice exclaimed once she recognized her friend. Kim's short blonde hair flipped around as she looked to Alice. She waved before dodging a dodge ball. Talk to you later then. Alice thought as she caught a dodge ball, causing one on the other side to get out.
As more and more people got out. The game was nearly over it was just Alice and two other people. A stranger and a familiar face. The stranger had short green dyed hair and the others was raven black. The stranger threw another dodge ball but Alice turned her body just in time to dodge. There were cheers once she did. Then the familiar one threw another, she dodged it narrowly as it flew past her head. She then lunged at a ball that had rolled near her and launched it at the other side, where it hit the stranger. The red team cheered once again loudly as the green haired girl walked off to her other team. Alice smirked as her eyes darted towards her last opponent. But then, he spoke causing her to shiver as fear and guilt washed over.
     "Well it's just you and me Alice," he said calmly. Alice stood frozen staring at him, now realizing why. Rex...She thought before a dodge ball cane flying hitting her straight in the face. She fell backwards, holding her nose as she heard the cheers of the blue team of their victory.
       "Don't worry Alice" said Kim as she patted Alice's shoulder, "we'll get 'em next time". Alice nodded at her statement slowly, removing her hand from her nose after she knew it wasn't bleeding.
        I need to talk to Rex. She thought as she stood up before the whistle blew meaning it was time to go so we better get our butts moving. She groaned, not getting a chance to at least apologize, Alice walked to the girls locker room. Maybe next time...I guess..
