Chapter 5

Zain P.O.V

Grayson was sound asleep in my arms. I slowly started to get up, being careful to not wake him up. There are some things I wish I could tell him but if I were to tell him, He'd be in danger.

I quietly walk out of the bedroom and go into the bathroom. As I shut the door, I realize I was holding my breath. I slowly exhale. I lean against the counter and look up into the mirror. I see my eyes are bloodshot and my irises were pitch black.

What I wish I could tell Grayson was the fact that I'm not human. I was a Vampire... I haven't fed all day and laying with him drives me wild. Even in the bathroom, I can hear his heart beating the blood through his veins, and his scent... it was intoxicating.

You see, Vampires aren't what people think to be. We can see our reflections, We're not pale, We can eat Human food but it does make us sick. A lot of us can walk into the sun without burning. However, I'm not one of the lucky ones. I have to wear a Special Talisman to be able to do so. I wear it in the form of a Crystal around my neck.

I hear Grayson get out of bed and walk towards the bathroom door. He knocks.

"I'll be out in just a sec" I quickly call out. I flush the toilet to make him think I was just using the bathroom.

As I walk out, I can see his eyes are red and puffy from crying. I immediately wrap him in my arms and hold him close. His scent gets to my nose and I have to hold my breath to keep my thirst under control.

"Are you okay Gray?" He shakes his head but doesn't speak. I lead him downstairs and set him on the couch while I put the Hocus pocus movie on. It's his favorite movie.

We sit there for a little while. Right as the movie ends, I come to the decision the leave because It's getting hard to control my thirst. We say our goodbyes and when I'm out of sight of the house, I dart away from the house using my speed.

I speed over to the next town and start smelling who's near. I almost immediately catch a Person. I follow the scent to the person. With a glance around, there's no one around.

I dash towards the person and drag them out of sight. They start screaming but I look them in the eyes.

"After I'm done, you'll forget this ever happened. You won't remember my face or details of what happened." Her eyes close and I can feel my fangs elongate and sharpen. Her blood is calling to me.

With a swift movement, I bite down into her neck and the blood immediately rushes into my mouth. The sweet and savory nectar of life. I take enough to get me by for a while but not enough to kill her.

I pull my fangs from her neck and lick the wound so it'll heal shut. I can feel my senses sharpen and everything becomes much clearer.

I speed back to town and go back home. I sit down and start reading a book. After a few minutes, my phone starts to vibrate. I look at the caller ID and see that it's Grayson.

"Hey Cutie. What's up?" I ask. He doesn't respond at first but I can hear his ragged breathing.

"Zain.. I need you". I immediately hang up and rush to his house. Before I know it, I'm standing over him on the floor.

There's a puddle of blood next to him and it hits my nose. "How'd you get here so fast?" He says before he faints.
