"What's wrong, Siayla?" Rafael asks when he walks up to me. I stay silent, looking away from his gaze. He gently grips my chin and he makes me look into his eyes. When our eyes meet, I can't take it any longer and I let everything go.
I sob into his chest as he pulls me closer to him. I tell him everything and he stays silent, letting me get everything off my chest. He rubs my back in an attempt to comfort me.
"How can Hayden do that? He didn't even think about me. He just thought about bashing Liel's face in. That's it. Nothing else. Does he not care about me?"
"I am sure Hayden beat up Liel because he cares a lot about you. I say this because I personally want to beat Liel up. But that is only because he was immature and got you pregnant," Rafael says and I snort before I shake my head.
"It takes two to tango," I say quietly and Rafael nods.
"So... What time do you want my gang to show up at the place you're fighting the Merciless X's?" His question has me gasping and pulling away from him.
"You can't go. Your gang is nothing but wanted criminals. You'll get yourself thrown in jail once it's all finished," I say, shaking my head. Rafael sighs loudly and I already know we are going to be arguing about this for a while.
"Your friend Eli came here and told me about it five days ago. Ever since then, I have been training my gang for the worst. I also informed my gang of what is going to happen, including the jail part but none of them backed down. They all want to help you. Let us help you, Siayla."
I stare at him before I get up and I walk to the small kitchen. I open the fridge and I see vanilla ice cream. Rafael hates it but he keeps it for me. And this feels like a new cartoon so he must've gotten it a little while ago.
After getting a spoon, I walk back to the couch and I sit down. Rafael silently watches me eat some ice cream before I finally decide to answer.
"I don't want you to be put in jail because of me," I grumble.
"And I don't want you or the baby getting hurt. So, whether you like it or not, my gang is fighting with you." I groan and shove a spoonful of ice cream into my mouth.
"I don't like it," I state with a mouthful of ice cream and Rafael chuckles.
"Well, then you can suck it because I really don't care. Be careful with that ice cream, you can get a brain freeze," he warns and I roll my eyes as I shovel in another spoonful of ice cream. Right after I swallow the cold cream, my head starts hurting and I groan. "Told ya."
"Oh, shut it," I grumble. I then get out my phone and I pull up the floorplan for the fight coming up. "Have a look at this and we can figure out how to fit your gang in. I already have some ideas but I want your insight on it."
Rafael nods, taking my phone and studying everything. I watch the game, cursing number 27 when he fumbles the ball.
"These look good. I think we should split my gang up and mix them in with your agent buddies." I nod and I take my phone back.
"I was thinking that too. And I am going to keep some of your members on the outside to make sure no one gets out. Also, make sure your snipers are trained and ready. Raylen should lead them. He is the best sniper you got."
"I agree." Silence falls between us as we stare at the tv, thinking about the upcoming events. "Siayla... Can you promise me that you'll be extra careful? Please?"
"As long as you promise me you will be extra careful too. This baby is going to need his god-father." After saying that, I quickly jet up and run to the fridge. I put the ice cream away then I run to the door. "Bye, Rafael! Thank you!"
I run down the hallway with Tonio laughing after me. I then hear Rafael yell for me to come back but I just laugh and run faster. I make it out of the building and I pull out my phone. I dial Mr. Wilkins's number and put the phone against my ear.
"Hello?"
"Can you come and pick me up, please?" I ask hopefully and I hear a sigh from the other end. "If you're busy, that's fine... I can find another ride."
"Will it be okay if Liel picks you up?" Mr. Wilkins asks and I purse my lips together before agreeing. "Okay. He's on his way now."
"Okay. Thank you, Mr. Wilkins." I hang up and I pocket my phone. I observe my surroundings and I realize it's getting dark. This place is dangerous at night, but I will be fine. Liel is on his way. Besides, I have my gun if the case calls for it.
Five minutes have passed and it's already dark. It's a little chilly and I am rubbing my arms to give me a bit of warmth. I hear footsteps coming from an alley close to where I am standing and I tense. My hand goes to my gun and I keep it there. I watch the alleyway and I wait for the figure to emerge. I stay on high alert, listening to everything happening around me. Cars honk, tires screech, and mice squeak. The footsteps grow louder and my heartbeat grows faster.
Liel's car stops beside me and I immediately get in and I shut the door. The figure comes out of the alleyway and I see that he has a gun. My eyes run over his arms and I see a small tattoo on the inside of his arm. It's the tattoo of The Merciless X's.
I roll my window down and I point my gun at the man. He sees this and goes to shoot me but I beat him to it. Right when the bullet hits him, his hands tighten around his gun and he pulls the trigger.
"Nooo!"
