НУ ... ОНИ ВИНТОВЫЕ

WITH ANOTHER TWO WEEKS OF RADIO SILENCE FROM BUCKY, DIMITRI AND PETER MADE A DEAL. While Peter slept, Dimitri would take control and continue looking for Bucky, and while Dimitri slept, Peter would do the same. It may not have been the healthiest thing for their body per se, but with Dimitri worrying about Bucky just the same as Peter was, there was no longer a voice of reason between the two.

Peter was still having trouble focusing, and getting random midday memories, but he could manage. He knew it most likely had something to do with the way Dimitri was freed from the cage Hydra placed him in, but as long as his symptoms did not grow out of hand, he would be okay until he found Bucky.

The rest of the tower was none the wiser of their deal, or what they spent all of their time doing. The only time anyone even saw Peter was when they were bringing him food, and taking the plate back which was almost always left untouched. No one knew what was wrong, but everyone was worried.

Peter had just woken up and taken control back from Dimitri when he was combing through everything he had found in the last eight or nine hours. He was not expecting for the two of them to find much in such a short amount of time, but he knew that using both of their heads, and doubling the time they spent looking, they could aid Bucky in getting away and find him a lot faster and more efficiently. Peter knew they were getting close as well, with their combined knowledge of Bucky and The Winter Soldier, it was only a matter of time before they hit the jackpot.

Sadly though, knowing Bucky well, meant knowing just how well he knew how to avoid detection. He was more than intelligent and he knew even more about Hydra's history than Peter did. Bucky was the best option when it came to staying undetected for the longest with hydra on his tale out of all of the Hydra escapees, most of which were dead from being caught.

Peter's eyes snapped to the computer screen to his left. Hydra had a new development on the Winter Soldier. Peter was about to click it and trace it, but the power to his entire room shut off completely. He slammed his hands down on the desk and let out an angered grunt.

"What the hell?" Peter let out in Russian as he leaned back in his chair. His hands ran through his hair as he stared at the screen in disbelief, "Friday, cut the power back on," Peter knew Tony's AI was made to survive a power outage.

"Command not permitted," Friday responded.

"What the fuck?" Peter cursed, "Who took away my permissions? It will take me half the day to get through its programming," Peter mumbled to himself as he stared at his computer. He was pissed. He was so close, and then the power shut off. Peter looked up to see his door be opened by Tony.

"I cut you out. We need to talk, Peter," Tony said as he leaned against the door frame.

"I am good."

"Now, Peter, come on. Steve and I have some things we need to say to you," Tony sighed before walking away.

Peter grumbled to himself before standing up and following Tony downstairs, "Can we turn my power back on now? I was in the middle of something important."

"When is the last time you slept? You look like a zombie," Steve muttered, but Peter picked up on it just like he did everything else that happened in the tower.

"Do not act as if you care, old man," Peter sighed, "I was doing something, so get this stupid pep talk, or whatever it is, over so that I can get back to it."

"We decided that it was about time we had you do a press conference. You have been in the states for almost eight months, and word is getting out that you're here, so why the hell not?" Tony rambled slightly.

Peter was ready to scream at them. He wanted to yell about how this proved that they only pretended to care for him, but then the idea hit him. He could easily pull it off. After all, the media was easily swayed, and he was quite convincing if he did say so himself.

"Okay," Peter said simply.

"Peter, seriously? I mean come on, we just... Wait... Did you just say 'okay'?" Steve asked. He was ready to argue with Peter at the drop of a pen and Peter was beginning to get sick of it.

"Yeah, I will do it," Peter shrugged, "But only if you give me back my privileges and my power back now."

"You and I both know you are just going to take them either way," Tony gave Peter a slight smile, "But yeah, it might take an hour, but I'll get them back for you."

"An hour?"

"I had to keep you out somehow," Tony shrugged, "Go shower and I will get on it."

"Okay."

"See, that wasn't so hard, was it?" Tony asked as he looked over at his husband with a winning smirk and a raised eyebrow.

"Can we not fight for once, Tony?" Steve sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

Tony's smile fell, "Whatever," Tony rolled his eyes before walking off.

Peter walked back to his room even faster knowing that Tony was coming in the direction he had been listening from.

"Can we please exploit that their marriage is falling apart?"

"How are you awake right now? You never wake up without at least six hours of sleep," Peter mumbled, "And we will see... I think it might be better to bring attention to how we do not have much of a relationship with them or anyone in this tower, really, but the one who is a supposed enemy despite everything he has done to help this city," Peter mumbled as he stripped and stepped into the shower.

"But, I bet it'd be a huge scandal and none of the attention would be on us!"

"No, it'd put all of the attention on us. To see how we're handling it. Plus, their son being the one to air out the drama... your idea might be what we are going with."

"Wait, why are we doing this conference thing in the first place? Hydra will know where we are."

"That is the point. We want them to leave Buck the hell alone so that he can get away."

"And if we get caught?"

"We go through with the pact James and I made. I will not be a killing machine for them again."

"Great. The death plan. Always makes me warm and fuzzy inside."

"We are screwed either way, Dimitri."

"You are not wrong."
