My Hero

First Day of School

Deku's POV:
I woke up and washed my face as my mom was making breakfast. I ate as I tried to look happy as usual.
"Izuku!" My mom said.
"Yes, mom?" I replied.
"Have you been okay, lately?" She asked in a concerned tone.
"Oh yes! Yes, mom!" I said trying to sound happy.
"Izuku, if you need to talk, I'm here for you." She said.
"Yeah! Thanks, mom!" I said.
As I got to school, I was shaking, and I saw Kacchan as he bumped into me.
"Watch it, nerd!" He said.
I stood silent because I didn't want to fight like the number of times he beat me in middle school. I kept walking until I bumped into someone else and fell. I looked at him and he had half red and half white hair and his eyes didn't look scary. He looked back as he gave a hand.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
I was nervous and nodded. I took his hand as I got up. I blushed as he smiled when he walked away. I walked into my classroom and saw him, he waved 'hello' as I waved back with a nervous smile as I sat in a desk beside him. For the first time, I don't remember when was the last time I smiled but I didn't understand why I started to smile again. Then I remembered, the last time I smiled was before I went to the doctor and didn't realize how long it's been. My smile faded when I saw Kacchan as he sat in front of me. I was shaking nervously as I tried to keep my cool.
"Are you alright?" The boy said.
I turned as I slightly blushed.
"Oh... I'm okay. Thank you..." I said.
"Hey Deku! Just because you got into U.A. doesn't mean you're not a loser because I'm still better than you."
I didn't respond but it did hurt as I put my head down.
"What kind of hero do you think you'll be?" The boy said.
"Why are you defending this nerd? He's quirkless." Kacchan said with a grin.
"What's so special about your quirk?" He said.
"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU SAY?" Kacchan yelled.
"It's the first day and I have to see this?" Said the teacher.
"If I was the principal I'd expel you both, but since this the first day. I'll let you both off with a warning. So, is that understood?" The teacher said in an angry tone.
"Whatever teach!" Kacchan said.
"Yes sir." The other boy said.
After class ended, it was lunchtime and I walked to the boy and tap his shoulder.
"Um, excuse me?" I said in a nervous tone.
He looked back and didn't give me a mean look as Kacchan would.
"Thank you... but I'm sorry that I got you in trouble," I said.
"Don't worry! It wasn't your fault!" He said with a smile.
I smiled back as we walked together.
"Do you want to sit together?" He asked.
"Oh... sure," I said.
"I'm Shoto Todoroki. What's your name?" He asked.
"Oh... I'm Izuku... Izuku Midoriya." I whispered a little.
"Move it, nerd!" Kacchan said walking between us as I was nervously shaken.
"Are you alright?" Todoroki asked.
"Oh... yes..."
"Is he normally mean to you?" He asked.
"Well... yeah..." I said sadly.
"I'm sorry about that. He'd be the worst pro hero." He said
"Yeah..." I said.
After the school day ended, I was nervous about walking home since Kacchan lived near me, so I had to think of a way to avoid him.
"Hey, Midoriya." A voice said behind me.
I startled as I looked and it was Todoroki.
"Oh! Hey Todoroki!" I said nervously.
"It was nice meeting you." He said with a smile.
"Thank you. It was nice meeting you too." I said as I blushed.
