TRIGGER WARNING: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, BLOOD, AND OFFENSIVE WORDS USED IN THIS CHAPTER. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

beomgyu went out of the fort, ignoring the younger boy's desperate shouts of his name.

his cheek stinged with the slap that taehyun gave to him earlier. it felt like it hurt more than the slaps that his father gave to him whenever he went out without telling one of them.

he sees sorin and yeonjun sitting by a rock, with the other prince being taken care of by the blond. the older prince looks at him, his sly fox eyes peering through his soul. he smirked.

“what did taehyun did to you now, hm? do you realize your mistake now, you bastard?” he spoke in a rather..prideful tone. as if he just trampled over the bad boy of the five kingdoms. like he brought down the wealthiest and the one who has the most militaristic power in all of the kingdoms.

it ignited the bomb inside beomgyu.

he immediately started to get to him, but yeonjun quickly retaliates and managed to throw a punch on beomgyu's left cheek.

“no! not right now, your majesties!” yelled sorin, trying to pull yeonjun back to his seat, but yeonjun broke free of him and began to punch him, and at one point, he almost drew his sword, but sorin stopped him, gripping his arm tightly. wait, was his eyes glowing gold?

“s-stop. please?”

he looks at beomgyu, and frowns, “i-i'm sorry if i can't be of help, beomgyu, i-i'll try to do—”

the younger prince chuckled softly, tears running down his cheeks, “it's alright, sorin. no need to apologize. i can handle myself. you've seen me like this already.”

he turns away and ran as fast as he can, seeing the confused looks of the fairies. he didn't notice that he tripped over a tree branch and he fell, making him groan in pain.

he laid down there, sobbing softly. his injuries were healing, and then he got new ones. he didn't like the life he had right now.

there was still this lingering feeling he has for taehyun. he didn't know what it is; he was drawn to the mystery behind this sweet, kind-hearted and passionate doctor.

who was he?

he wanted to know the answer to that, but his sadness took over him. all he could feel was physical and emotional pain, really. his tears stained his cheeks and clothes, and blood flowed from his cheek and his shoulder. yeonjun probably knew about his injury caused by the king.

beomgyu tried to get up, but he couldn't. he just stared up at the sky, crying his eyes out, until he fell asleep, his body weak and exhausted.

when he woke up, he didn't expect to see his mom by his bedside. his eyes adjusted to the white walls of the clinic, which contrasted the gold and red colors of the whole castle. he saw his mom's worried face, and she sighed in relief.

“beomgyu..where were you? soobin and huening found you in a forest..” yeon-hee asked, frowning, dabbing her eye with the sleeve of her beautiful, peach dress. it was obvious that she had been weeping for her only son.

beomgyu looks at his mom for a moment, before he coughed and he sniffled, his eyes stinging with the tears he shed hours earlier.

“i-i went out again. to see the doctor—” he sobbed, and his mother helped him sit and she sat on the bed instead of the chair, and she took beomgyu's hand. he noticed that her hand was full of cuts, which he knew where it came from.
