A few warnings!
-Mention of self-harming,
-Mention of blood

Optimus will be OOC for this, and it'll be a relatively short chapter--

Regular. P.o.V

There was no doubt that the Leader of the Autobots struggled with stress, from dealing with Decepticons, Agent Fowler, missions, protecting the kids and losing his home to war and destruction, it seemed like a lot. However, every time you saw him he always held his head up, and he always stayed calm and collected, you never understood how he could do it. If you were in his place, you'd probably have a crying session at least twice a week.

You and Optimus were close, some would consider you closer than Ratchet, but no one could beat the grumpy medic. It wasn't until now, that you realized how much the stress took its toll on Optimus. You were outside of his room now, just to check on him, and talk.
Knocking on the door, it took a few minutes with no response. You knocked again, getting the same result. This worried you, Optimus would always answer, even in the dead of night. You turned the handle, realizing that it was unlocked, and slowly made your way in. "Optimus?" You whispered, maybe he was just sleeping...

As you finally made your way into the room, you gasp out in shock and fear. There was your guardian, in the corner of his room, a piece of sharp metal in his hands, and a steady stream of blood running down his arm. "Optimus!" You exclaim, almost sprinting over to him, and trying to help him stand up. "How'd this happen? Are you alright? Should I get Ratchet?" When he didn't say anything, you calmed down more and managed to find a stray towel to wrap his arm, just for the time being.

The two of you sat on the bed, you were careful when taking the piece of metal away from him. "Optimus..." You trailed off, not knowing what to say in this situation. "Don't tell Ratchet.." He mumbled, making you look up at him. "It'll worry him, and he's already under a lot of stress," he explained. You nodded your head. "I won't tell him, then. But could you please...Tell me why?" Optimus sat quietly for a moment, before starting.
"I don't know..It all just...Happened. Of course, I've been under stress before, but this...It was all so overwhelming, the stress was piling up and stacking, but yesterday...I think that's when I finally...Gave up trying to fight it..." You frowned and wrapped your arms around him to give him comfort. "What happened yesterday?" Optimus looked towards you and rested his head on yours. "It was what you call a nightmare. I failed the team, they needed me to help them and I couldn't...All I could do was sit and watch them. I got to watch them die in front of me, screaming out in pain. I-I couldn't handle that." "Optimus," You said, and pulled him closer into the hug, which he gladly returned. "You don't have to go through this alone, I want to help you through it if you'll let me." You offer. Optimus gave you a smile and nodded his head. "That would be nice." You smiled and gently reached out to grab his wrapped arm, "First we'll have to get you fixed up though," you chuckled.

Since then you and Optimus always made time to help each other with stress and struggles, talking for hours on end, and on more than a few occasions right through the night. You were glad you could help him, and that you caught him when you did. You've seen him improve with not carrying as much stress as he was, he seemed more relaxed, and you've even caught him smiling-even it was only towards you or Ratchet. Talking out his feelings was a great help and reliever, for both you and him, and you were happy to know he trusted you as much as he did.

That's the end of the chapter! I'm sorry it was so short, I get a little uncomfy with writing about self-harm due to my own past experiences with it. I also wasn't sure how to continue the chapter. so I left it there. I really hoped you enjoyed it, and I also might try updating my other One-Shot book. ~WolfWriter
