Ruby was running across the surface of the Earth, against the cool, strong breeze which hit her face with every step she took. It was like an endearing carress to her furry cheeks.
As much as she knew how much she would enjoy this in a different circumstance, she just could not. Like she physically could not. Or maybe she did not want to, she was not sure. All she could be sure of was that she could not get the feisty brunette she had just made contact with today out of her mind.
Was it because she was hung up on wanting to keep her safe? Or maybe it was because she was worried the Floerens would discover her frail little body laying in the pile of dead leaves. But that was impossible, was it not? Not really. They were wolves, and wolves had a keen sense of smell. But she had nothing to worry about, right? All she had to do was get back to her before dawn, before the potion wears off.
Why was it so important to her though? It's only because she was the saviour. "That is all" Ruby convinced herself.
A sudden sound of howling interrupted her thoughts. She quickly stopped moving, retreating backwards behind a thick bush. She must have reached their camp.
She carefully moved her snout, then her eyes out of the bush to see what was happening.
The huge metal exterior of the ship was very visible. It had a dull shine, further accentuating it's threatening vibe. It was free of even a tiny spot of rust, though it was obviously put together by screws. It was an odd shape of round, with the left and right sides slightly longer, potruding out as a result. This made the flying saucer look flat if seen from below.
Ruby scanned the area and realised there were a few animals standing near the ship. They looked like horses, but they weren't.
They had four legs, but they were not furry like horses, they were smooth. Almost shiny, kind of like metal, but more like rock. What Ruby assumed were their eyes resembled nothing like a horses'. It was just a glowing teal-coloured rectangle above their fortunately normal snout. They did make the same sounds a horse did, though.
"I have just received direct orders from The King to immediately set off to the East and eliminate every presence residing there." A tall, buffed man with musculine features came out of the ship while talking to another similar dressed man. They were both attired with a long leather cloak draped over them.
Ruby growled fiercely as she watched the two men arm themselves while beckoning a few other men to join them.
The mass of them quickly took off together on the horses, to Ruby's delight. She placed one paw over the other, slowly but surely advancing towards the ship. She inhaled deeply, trying to get the scent of anyone left around the area. Besides the strong smell of metal and forest, nothing else, luckily.
Ruby allowed herself to transform back into a human being as she walked towards the entrance. The entrance worked like a gate, but instead of opening forward, it ascended upwards. Ruby stepped in the ship and immediately went to rummage through the place to look for the antidote.
Although she did not waste any time examining the area, she still noticed that the place was brightly lit, with no one corner having a dark spot. The lights were so white that it became quite blinding for Ruby.
The place was fairly big, all it had mostly was a personalized four-walled sleeping area for each of the wolves, sticking closely to each other, occupying at least half of the area. The other half was mostly occupied with research tables and shelves lined with bottles of chemicals, which was where Ruby headed for first.
There were two other doors, one probably for the pilot while the other had a staircase leading downwards to god knows where.
All that was infront of Ruby were half-finished researches and parchments everywhere. She had looked through most of the promising cabinets and shelves, but found nothing.
She groaned in frustration as she pushed back her hair carelessly. She walked towards the door to her left. She pushed the door with the tip of her finger slowly, emitting a loud creaking noise. She paid no attention and sniffed the room for any presence.
She pushed the door wide open as she moved directly towards a drawer. She opened it and all she saw were the remains of "A Guide to Flying".
She messed her hair up, furrowing her eyebrows as she scanned the room for the little bottle. When she was at the verge of leaving the room, a glint of green stood out to her from under a piece of parchment.
She yelped in excitement as she reached under it and collected the bottle. "Finally." She mumbled as she stuffed it under her cloak.
She turned into a wolf as quickly as possible and sprinted back where she came from.

The wolf barked loudly as she reached the forest where she had left Sydney, sniffing for the girl's scent simultaneously. Her scent hit her nose and she inhaled deeply, giving her best to locate Sydney's exact location. The cloaking spell should have worn off by now, a tint of orange was already painted across the otherwise dark sky.
She lifted her paws as it morphed into hands and she straightened herself for a better look at her surroundings.
"Fuck." Ruby muttered as her face contorted disbelievingly. Sydney was nowhere to be seen.
She brushed her hair back in frustration and called out Sydney's name. To her dissapointment, the only reply she got was the howling of strong wind against her ears.
"FUCK!" She hollered as regret coursed through her veins.
"SYDNEY!" She felt the bottle she had collected weigh her down with regret in her cloak.
