It’s just one manic Wednesday. Gerald was strolling inside the mall, looking for no one..searching for nothing. He’s just there, spending his time to take a breath out of his boring life. He is a happy go lucky guy – definitely a boy next door. He’s been linked to many girls. Perhaps, known to be a chick boy.
It’s Sarah’s free day. She’s a busy architect. A well-respected one in her field. Perhaps it’s impossible that they’ll be able to meet again. But no, they did.
Gerald: Oh! Sorry miss. Di ko sinasadya. Nasaktan ka ba? (tinutulungang itayo si Sarah)
Sarah: Hindi. Ok lang. Kasalanan ko naman eh.
Gerald: Sarah? ano’ng gina gawa mo dito?
Sarah: Oh Ge, ikaw pala. Pasensya na at nabangga pa kita ha.
Gerald: Ako nga ang dapat mag sorry. May masakait ba?
Gerald held her hand unconsciously. Sarah was then shocked so she immediately let go.
Gerald: Uhmmm…Sorry.
Sarah: Sige. Mauna na ako.
She was alone. He thought she’s anti-social or maybe still in the process of mending her broken heart. Gerald pitied her.
Gerald: Sa, wait..!
Sarah: Bakit?
Gerald: Can we go out for lunch? Total andito na rin naman tayo eh. Treat ko.
Sarah: Paalam muna ako kay mommy.
Gerald: Asan ba si Tita? Ako magpapaalam sa kanya.
Sarah: Talaga lang ha? (smiling sabay hampas kay Ge)
Gerald: Sakit nun ha.
Sarah: Ay sorry. (Hinamas ang braso ni Ge)
That was a perfect scenario of sweet love…growing love. They really look perfect for each other. Gerald seemed to win Sarah’s friendship. Sarah looks comfortable with Gerald. Looking at them teasing and smiling together, is a dream come true – a perfect image of a match made in heaven.
Sarah: Mommy? (talking to her mom on the phone)
Mommy D: Bakit? Ano ba ang meron.
Sarah: Ma, may nag-aaya po kasi sa akin for lunch. Kaibigan ko po.
Mommy D: Sige, pero dapat mag-ingat ka ha. At gusto kong makilala yang bago mong kaibigan.
Sarah: Opo ma. Salamat po. I love you.
Gerald: Napaka protective siguro talaga ng mommy mo noh?
Sarah: Hindi naman. Ayaw lang talaga niyang masaktan ako.
Gerald: Mahal na mahal ka niya ano? So, Sarah pwede daw ba?
Sarah: Pwede naman daw sabi ni mommy. Pero gusto daw niyang makilala ka pa
Gerald: So, that does mean, magkikita tayo ulit after this?
Sarah: Ewan ko sa’yo. Kain na tayo.
He was such a gentleman to ask permission from her mother who is known to be a great protector of her beloved daughter. His first move seems working. But he is not after for something serious. He just wants to be friend with her.
She was still shy. She is not used to having lunch with a guy. She has not done this even with his previous man. But she feels honored to be invited by him. She finds him pleasing. But, both still are feeling awkward towards each other.
